It was such an age-old dream of paradise. At first this paradise was located in the sky. Then this paradise was located in the future and was called communism, and in the USSR, among thinking people, this paradise was located in the West and was called democracy and the market.

After 1991, Russia was supposed to enter this paradise, but something did not work out: either the oligarchs, or Putin, or the people were not the same. In short, Russia didn’t succeed, but Ukraine almost didn’t. She was about to join heavenly NATO. That's why Putin attacked her.

It is interesting that quite a few people who thought this way were quite critical of the modern leftist elites of the West, which are characterized by pharisaism, unprofessionalism, nepotism and arrogance (quote by Stanislav Belkovsky). They, of course, laughed at Queers for Palestine - but somehow this was not projected onto this war.

The first thing that happened to those who thought this way, at least to me, was that they were completely stunned by the hate from Ukrainian propaganda.

And it wasn’t even the official position of the authorities, who proclaimed the Russians “ a collective Sauron ” and “ a nation of inhumans and murderers, the biological trash of this world ,” as the head of President Zelensky’s administration, Andriy Yermak, wrote.

It was about an anonymous mass of channels, bots and activists. This was a fundamentally new type of propaganda. Propaganda, during which public opinion was created not even by official propagandists, but by countless numbers of no-names. Anyone who dared not fully conform to the narrative had to be torn to pieces by these piranhas, who clogged the entire information background, intimidated and forced to join the group.

In their description, this war had a completely religious character. It was a battle between the sons of Light and the sons of Darkness. Elves - with orcs. Free people - with genetic slaves.

What was the only incomprehensible thing in this whole situation was where are those same Western democracies? Well, let’s say activists have emotions. Bombs are falling on them. But there is the State Department. President Zelensky depends on him a little more than 150%. Democrats could hint to Zelensky that this is all not good. That this somehow does not correspond to universal human values.

In such a situation, things became completely unpleasant. It turned out that Ukrainian activists (including with little American money, because ideological investments have a huge multiplier) are turning Ukraine into a consumable material for mutual erasure with Russia.

Their ideology becomes a cognitive weapon, directed, it should be noted, against both sides at once. She forced the victim to erase himself against the aggressor with complete confidence in victory and therefore with the impossibility of ending the war.

But this was just the beginning. It turned out that a huge number of Russian emigration and intellectual elite in one way or another depend on the Western bureaucracy. Some are on scholarships, some are on grants. Some are directly supported by the Free Russia Foundation (FRF), one of the largest channels for issuing grants to the Russian opposition, whose capabilities are growing before our eyes.

In 2018, FRF issued only $20 thousand in grants, in 2021 - already $235 thousand, and in 2022 - $1 million 42 thousand . In 2022, FRF received incoming $3.36 million , and already in 2023 - $5,061,364 million .

Thus, the numbers increased from 20 thousand dollars distributed in 2018 to 5 million received in 2023! Even if you consider that what is given and what is received are not the same thing, the growth is amazing.

And this opposition - with certain variations - began to say everything that the modern left-wing network Western bureaucracy says about Western societies. Colonizers, eternal guilt, collective responsibility, reparations, bad capitalists.

Sometimes this war breaks out like lava, when, for example, Hamas attacks Israel and it turns out that the defenders of all that is good are entirely on the side of the “victims” from Hamas, resistance is justified. But more often the Third World Cognitive War is fought in other ways. Brainwashing in universities. By bringing voters into the country, who are then declared victims to whom everyone owes. Woke mind virus is a set of crazy and unrealistic principles on which it is impossible to build a healthy society, but which allow this society to be divided into victims who can do anything; oppressors who must repent and pay, and activists and nomenclature who decide who will be the victim and who will be the oppressor.

This is a set of extremely marginal judgments that cannot be implemented, and if attempted, will lead to poverty and massacre, but which are declared to be the only humane and emotionally true. Everything to the right of these judgments is declared fascism and proof of the insensitivity of those who do not share these great ideals.

And besides, the woke mind virus is a powerful cognitive weapon. Just as the Comintern quite deliberately used “useful idiots” against the West in the 1930s, and now, paying the former masters of the Comintern in their own coin, supporters of strategic containment of Russia willingly use “useful decolonizers” against it.

Each country has its own strains of woke mind virus. What does the strain for Russia look like?

It contains several main lines of code.

Decolonization

Russia, we are told, is the last colonial empire. She must be dismembered. Decolonization is the Kingdom of Heaven that will give happiness to the oppressed peoples of Russia.

This idea is unrealizable, and an attempt to implement it will lead to the transformation of the territory of the former Russia into a field of one big massacre lasting many decades and to the total degradation of any societies inhabiting it. This is what a decolonized Middle East looks like.

“Decolonization” is a specific ideological tool invented by Western Marxists, nomenklatura and activists to enslave and ideologically humiliate the very civilization on which they parasitize.

Anti-capitalism

Common sense is condescending to the conformism of ordinary people, condemns villains and admires the heroes. He will not cancel the people in a totalitarian state - but he will admire those who went to the square after the USSR invasion of Czechoslovakia. Imagine that you are a black boy who grows in Harlem. You can hardly study, work, use all the achievements of the West and become Thomas Sowell - the greatest social philosopher of our time. And you can not teach anything of this and say that everyone owes you. You are a victim.

It is clear that the Thomas Sowella among representatives of any era, any race and any nation will always be in the minority. And those who want to be victims - in the majority. In the case of a military clash, the Woke culture invariably transforms the paradigm “victim and oppressor” into “victim and aggressor”. Moreover, the aggressor is always strong, and the victim is always the one who is weaker and needs the donates.

In the case of the Russian-Ukrainian war, this paradigm lay perfectly. From the very beginning, a very high bar was set: Putin is an aggressor. Russians too. All the Russian military, crossing the border of Ukraine, are war criminals. It is forbidden to sympathize with them. And the fact that the Russian people do not massively correspond to this high ideal shows its inferiority once again and favorably sets off the high moral qualities of those who expose its defects.
