The court has seized the property of rapper Alisher Morgenstern, accused in a criminal case of evading the duties of a “foreign agent.” The Moscow prosecutor's office reports this.
The musician was prohibited from taking any legal actions with a land plot and a residential building in the Istra district of the Moscow region, as well as with a non-residential building and three premises, the department added. This was demanded by the Savelovsk interdistrict prosecutor's office. As Shot writes , Morgenstern has a house in the village of Leonovo near Moscow and three premises on Bakuninskaya Street in Moscow.
The rapper's lawyer Sergei Zhorin told RBC that the defense and the musician himself did not receive official notifications of the arrest. Zhorin learned about the decision from the media.
The criminal case against Morgenstern became known in September 2024. He is charged with distributing materials without the “foreign agent” label in “one of the instant messengers and video hosting sites.” On January 17, TASS reported that investigators had brought charges against the rapper in this case.
The Ministry of Justice added Morgenstern to the register of “foreign agents” in May 2022. Even before this, he left Russia - after the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, said that the musician “is essentially selling drugs on social networks.”
