A fuel storage facility has been burning for three days near Voronezh. The governor asks residents not to post photos on social networks.

Another oil depot caught fire near Voronezh on the night of January 15-16 after an attack by more than 10 UAVs. The emergency occurred on the outskirts of one of the largest railway junctions in Russia - the city of Liski with a population of 55 thousand, which is approximately 75 kilometers from the regional center.

The state of emergency throughout the Liskinsky district - one of the most densely populated in the region - was introduced only on the morning of January 17, when it became clear that the fire raging on an area of ​​2,800 square meters (as reported by Governor Alexander Gusev in his telegram channel) was not very costly. it will not be possible to put it out: the smoke from it was noticeable even in the city of nuclear scientists - Novovoronezh, from where the place of the emergency is approximately 35 kilometers.

As of the evening of January 17, about 40 units of equipment (not only firefighting, but also utility), two firefighting trains and approximately 130 people from all firefighting garrisons in the region were involved in extinguishing the fire. And in the Liski sports complex “Lokomotiv” a temporary accommodation center for 50 people was organized for rescuers. Let us recall that Voronezh firefighters were among the firefighters who extinguished a serious fire at an oil depot in the Rostov region in August 2024; then it took 15 days to eliminate the emergency.

...All entrances to the fire site have been blocked by traffic police since the middle of the day on January 16; access to the villages and hamlets of the fire area - Kalach, Staraya Pokrovka, Kopanishte - was possible only if you had registration in these settlements.

Even despite the fact that hundreds of photos and videos of the fire itself appeared on the Internet, and at least a third of the Voronezh region saw smoke from it. The regional governor asked “not to post photos and videos from there on the Internet,” and his press service gently hinted to the Voronezh state media that it was also undesirable to show the work of firefighters, and the editor of one of the federal media even received a slap in the hat for publishing a photo of black smoke hanging over surrounding fields.

Novaya's correspondent can personally confirm: a cloud of blue-black smoke from the fire site on the afternoon of January 17 covered half the horizon.

“On the night of the fire, there was such a glow that it became as bright as day,” one of the local residents told me, “the first half hour was scary, and then nothing - just the howl of sirens all night long...

Let us note that this is not the first burning oil depot for the region, and if on June 24, 2023, during the passage of a column of the Wagner PMC through Voronezh, an oil storage tank on the outskirts of the metropolis caught fire, and on October 4, 2024, at an oil depot in the village of Anna (90 km from Voronezh) an empty tank was burning - then the fire was on the outskirts of Liski (from the regional center to the oil depot about 10 km) on oil depot with its 23 tanks for almost 50 thousand cubic meters of petroleum products, the emergency is much more serious.

By the way, when a tank at the Voronezh oil depot burned on June 24, 2023, queues at the gas station grew instantly, and although now Governor Alexander Gusev hastened to reassure residents of the region, declaring that there would be no consequences for car owners in the form of a fuel shortage as a result of the fire at the Liskinskaya oil depot will be, at several gas stations in the area on January 17, small queues of 5-7 cars were observed.

On January 18, the governor reported in his own telegram channel that the area of ​​the fire had decreased.
