Ownerless cars rusting in Voronezh courtyards got a chance to end their days not under pressure, but much more heroically. The city hall announced know-how on this topic.
The Administrative and Technical Control Commission of the City Hall will inspect all Voronezh courtyards, and if ownerless cars are noticed there, then after converting them into buggies (for off-road driving), they will be sent to the SVO zone.
The decision is made by the commission of the administrative and technical control department after inspecting the car, and if it shows signs of being abandoned, then a notice is left to the owner (who is determined in court).
According to representatives of the mayor's office, this fate awaits cars that are in working condition, which, by court decision, are subject to disposal. If after the expiration date of the notification the vehicle still remains in place, then within two weeks it is subject to evacuation and further alteration for sending to the front.
According to statistics from the regional traffic police, today in Voronezh there are about 530–550 thousand vehicles. During 2024, 527 abandoned cars were identified in Voronezh, of which more than 80 were sent to a special parking lot for temporary storage. The owners were concerned about the fate of the rest.
