If Putin refuses, the United States will impose “high taxes, duties, sanctions on everything that Russia sells to the United States.”

“We don’t see any particularly new elements here,” said presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the words of US President Donald Trump.

Peskov noted that Trump “likes sanctions methods” and that in his first term he became “the president of America who most often resorted” to such tools.

At the same time, he added that Russia is ready for an equal and respectful dialogue with the United States, which “took place” during Trump’s first term. “We are waiting for signals that have not yet been received,” Peskov said.
