The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine began criminal proceedings against the current Minister of Defense Rustem Umarov due to possible abuse of power. It is reported by Radio Liberty with reference to NABU.
Production is open at the request of the Corruption Center. The basis for him was the refusal of Umarov to extend the contract with the head of the agency of defense purchases Marina Bezrukova.
Production is carried out under part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for six years of imprisonment as maximum punishment.
In the official message, NABU separately recalled the presumption of innocence against Umarov, the Radio Liberty emphasizes.
