For 25 years, I fought unsuccessfully with excess weight. Now I dropped 22 kilograms, and I had hope

I used to say that I have problems with excess weight from 14-15 years, but now I realize that this is not so. Then I weighed about 70 kilograms, and this, as I now understand, is my norm. But I had violated the perception of my body: it seemed to me that I was complete, I was different from classmates and therefore did not fit into the company.
There were periods when I gained 8-10 kilograms, but then successfully dropped them. At 18–20, my relationship with food became unhealthy: I overshadowed and caused vomiting. At the age of 20, I had real excess weight: with a height of 176 centimeters, another 20–30 added to the starting 70 kilograms.
Over the past 25 years, I have tried, it seems, all possible ways to lose weight: hard diets of 500 kilocalories per day, hunger strikes, running, home training, strength training in the hall with different coaches. At first I felt not like peers, then I just wanted a healthy body.
The results were, sometimes even impressive, but the weight always returned, sometimes even more than to weight loss. The first result: minus 15 kilograms from the start of 138, but all the discarded has returned in four to six months. Then there was a small weight loss to five kilograms, but each time everything rolled up within a month or two. After I reached the weight of 143 kilograms, I managed to lose 53 - they returned in about two years. Then from 138 I lost to 128, and the rollback occurred six months later.
Why are kilograms returning?
According to meta -analysis, 29 long -term studies, more than 50% of the lost weight returns within the first two years after losing weight and almost 80% for five years. Scientists associate this with the launch of physiological mechanisms, not always subject to control: increasing the sense of hunger and a decrease in energy consumption, when on the same actions as before, the body spends less calories.
Now I understand that I acted incorrectly because I did not work on my attitude to food. I either ate uncontrolled, then starved, I had a low self -esteem, fixation on calorie content, fear of weight gain. At the same time, the food remained the easiest way to relieve stress and relax.

It was necessary to start with psychotherapy and building a healthy relationship with your own body and only then engage in weight loss. In general, I tried almost everything, but did not achieve a stable result.
A year ago, my weight reached 150 kilograms, and I went to the endocrinologist. She wrote to me Semaglutid (the active substance that is part of the “Overpik”. - approx. “Cold” ) . I do not have diabetes, but due to the fact that my weight posed a serious threat to health-including increasing the risk of diabetes, to which I have a genetic predisposition, the doctor suggested this option.

There was almost no doubt. Firstly, I heard about this drug with the corner of my ear, although then this topic was not so lost in social networks as it is now. I was aware that sisters Kardashian lost it, and thought: since it helped them - it would help me too.
Secondly, I tried so many things, and my metabolism seemed so slowed so much that any attempt to lose weight required titanic efforts. I watched an interview with the biologist and scientific journalist Irina Yakutenko, the author of the book about the willpower, in which she talked about irreversible changes in the metabolism after diets. The efforts that I made for weight loss at 25 years have now given a completely different result. At 25 restrictions on nutrition in combination with training and an active way of life gave minus three to seven kilograms per month. At 39, approximately the same mode gives a result from zero to three kilograms per month.
I wanted not just to constantly sit on the drug, but to “start the reaction”. The first two or three, a maximum of five kilograms dropped could change my psycho-emotional state and give me an incentive to make more efforts on my own.
Semavik I have been accepting for 10 months. It needs to be injected once a week. In Russia, it is quite affordable: 5500 rubles per bottle, which is enough for almost a month.
My expectations from the drug changed. At first I was enthusiastic, because finally something appeared that could help me. For 25 years of combating weight, I had many disappointments. In the early days, the effect was incredible: I didn’t want to eat at all, I literally persuaded myself to eat at least one egg.

But it quickly passed: the appetite, although it was weaker than before taking the drug, he still returned. It became clear that self -control and discipline are needed, and Semaglutid is not a magic wand. I know about cases, including starry, when people very quickly lost dozens of kilograms on the Overpick and analogues. We did not discuss this with the doctor, but, I think, the fact is that they have different physiology, different genetics. Probably their body perceives the drug differently. Perhaps they have a dosage. I know that some take Semaglutid without a doctor’s appointment - here you can expect any result.
I have an RPP for 19 years, and I do not believe that it will once pass my weight ranged from 38 to 74 kilograms. Now I can understand how I look, only by photographs and video society 9 minutes of reading
I realized that the drug would help me only in combination with my efforts. Now I eat on the principle of a Harvard plate (when half of the plate is diverted under vegetables and fruits, a quarter to whole grain, another quarter to healthy sources of protein), reducing calorie content. I don’t think calories now, but over the years of diets, I learned to approximately assess their number.
There were side effects. The main one is a strong nausea that began on the first day and bothers me so far. This imposes restrictions on my life, for example, I cannot download the press in training, because I can tear me out.
I heard that in some people, Semaglutid causes depression ( in August 2024, scientists suggested the presence of a connection between the use of the drug and the appearance of suicidal thoughts, but soon they refuted this hypothesis. - Approx. “Cold” ) . During the reception, my mental state worsened, I cried a lot, but it is difficult to separate the influence of the drug from other factors in my life. I did not notice other side effects.
The first results appeared within four to five weeks: I dropped about three kilograms. The weight goes rather slowly, and this is provided that I control the power, train and go a lot. I understand that everything that I do now will need to do all my life. I also go to psychotherapy to deal with nutrition problems.

When the first five kilograms left, I felt that I could lose weight again - it supported me very much and strengthened the faith in myself. I decided not to refuse the drug: if it helps me and does not bring a lot of discomfort to life, why? With him, I feel that I am not alone.
In just 10 months I dropped 22 kilograms. The first six left in February-April, then I lost four more in May. In June-July, I had a break both in taking the drug and in weight loss. From August to October, I dropped 12 kilograms, and in November and December rested again. Now I am taking the drug again and losing weight.
I dropped 100 kilograms, I participated in the reality show "Big Girls", but I was helped by psychotherapy for 6 minutes of reading
However, I do not plan to prick Semaglutid for life - I will probably finish in six months. And perhaps this drug has already helped me as much as possible. I don’t think that I can get closer to the desired weight of 70 kilograms, but I will definitely become healthier than now.
I am almost 40 years old, and I have been in this struggle for 25 years. I want to spend the rest of my life in a better body and have a better life. It limits the great weight: for example, it is difficult for me to withstand long walks with people of normal physique, I need stops, I say that I am tired, and I propose to go by bus or taxi. Bicycles can withstand up to 100-110 kilograms, ziplasa - up to 100–120.
Separately, I want to say about people with diabetes. There is conversations that those who want to lose weight are buying up the drug, and, they say, the people for whom it is originally intended will get nothing. In my opinion, this is a far -fetched problem. It is unlikely that pharmaceutical companies have reasons to produce the drug in a smaller volume than the market needs, and to lose profit.
