Before moving to Germany, I lived in Kazan, studied at a good English school, was interested in physics and mathematics. From childhood, my parents wanted to give me a foreign education that would open all the roads to me in the future. Therefore, even at school, when choosing a university, I decided to try to enter some engineering specialty in Germany and began to learn German.
After school, there were two options: either to enter the studio room , a kind of college for foreigners, where your German is pulled up to C1 and you hand over all the necessary tests for the university, or unlearn a year at a Russian university and can pass the college and all specialized exams.
I chose the first. Having entered the studio room in 2022, I moved to East Germany, to Magdeburg. During this year, I traveled a lot, I was in places that in another life I would never have dreamed, for example, in Liechtenstein. This year was precisely for adaptation and learning of the language. In college, I decided that I wanted to enter the Rhine-Westphalian University of Acheen (RVTH) at the faculty of mechanical engineering-one of the best German universities in this specialty.
It is very simple to do
It all depends on the desire - if it is, you will act one hundred percent. From the documents we needed: the Russian certificate (the exam is not needed), the language certificate and confirmation of financing - that you have funds for life in the country. I submitted applications to six or seven universities, they all gave a positive answer, and I just chose the best of them.
You do not need to be a genius to act. There is no competition for mechanical engineering at the RVTH at all, but there are certain selection criteria. As I was told in the selection committee, about 900 people are gaining my specialty every year. And these are all budget places ( there is a semester fee of about 300 euros, but it does not apply to study). Of all students, about 200 people fall off after the first session, simply because people understand that they are either not pulling or guessing with the profile. They are not expelled, they themselves leave. That is, it is easy to do, but it is difficult to study.

In Russian universities, there are always many mandatory unnecessary items: there you will not be given a diploma if you do not visit the physical education at the university.
The presence of lectures and seminars is not necessary. No one notes anyone.
If you are sick, you do not need to go to the patients to go to the couples. There is no home home. On the training platform in your account, all the materials necessary for the exam appear automatically. The education of the student depends only on his strength and motivation.
The system is built in such a way that the student has complete freedom: you can go to all lectures and seminars and then take exams according to the notes, but you can prepare yourself. By the way, I prefer the second option: I do not like mandatory visits and a housewash. This is a school for me. If you want to study science, then you yourself sit and study it.
Some lectures are useful and interesting, and they need to go straight to them. For example, we had physics in the first semester. And at each pair, the teacher put some new experiment: compression of the barrel due to heating of air inside or skating on the map directly in the audience.
On the exam you are given three written attempts, most often on a computer. In Russia, according to the stories of my friends, the teacher simply asks a question, and you can like it or not. Because of this, a corruption factor appears. And here, before the computer, everyone is equal: everyone has the same task, the same computer, the same number of materials in your personal account, the same amount of steam. I have been living in Germany for two and a half years, of which I have been studying at the same faculty of mechanical engineering for a year and a half as Alexey , who spoke about this university before me . According to him, the main problem of the university is the streaming system of training: all subjects are taught in a huge audience for 300 people, there is no way to ask a question, there are no seminars. This is wrong. Yes, once a week there are lectures for so many students. But the seminars for 10-20 people who are conducted by assistants of professors are infinitely many. It tells how to solve problems and draw.
Moreover, you can sign up almost every day for conversational hours, where you personally ask the professor or his assistant ask all the questions that are of you. There is simply no risk, as Aleksey says.
I agree that at a lecture on which 300 people are sitting, it is sometimes difficult to ask a question, especially if you are a foreigner. But there are always presenters of the professor who answer questions in online format through the application. If there is any problem with the language, then this university does not become a ball.

It could not be better, in fact. Plus, now you can easily call grandmother, relatives, friends. Communication with the Motherland is not lost.

In Germany, with digitalization every year is better and better. You can combine study with work - I have friends who do this and everyone has time. Now my parents are financially helped, but from the next semester I want to go to work at the department, where I will do something about 10 hours a week, to gain skills. And for this they will still pay a minimum wage -almost 13 euros per hour, or about 500 euros per month.

Seriously, I definitely want to enter the magistracy after the undergraduate. Maybe in New Zealand, Canada or here, in Germany. With a German diploma, all roads are open to me in the future. I want to become an engineer of mechanical engineering, to go to auto -industry. Finding a job after a university is quite easy, because in Germany the working market is favorable for this. BMW, Mercedes or Airbus come to the vacancies fair in Aachen and just with their hands they tear off new engineers.
