Samara saxophonist Andrei Shabanov was sentenced to six years due to the posts about the war. He has a disability of the second group

The Central District Military Court of Samara sentenced the saxophonist Andrei Shabanov to six years in a general regime colony on charges of calling for terrorism, RusNews and the musician support group report.

Shabanov was charged with two articles - on calls to Terorrism (part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) and calls to activities directed against the security of the state (paragraph “c” of part 2 of Article 280.4 of the Criminal Code), the card on the court’s website testifies.

Shabanov was detained in March 2024. The reason for the case was his posts in social networks, in which he spoke about the actions of the Russian armed forces. According to investigators, Shabanov urged to fight with Vladimir Putin and the current government - including by financial support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Legion of Freedom of Russia and the Russian Volunteer Corps, as well as sabotage.

Shabanov is a disabled person of the second group, he diagnosed the disease of Bekhterev and Psoriasis. In conclusion, his state of health was very deteriorated, the diseases began to progress, neither drugs nor rehabilitation was transmitted to him. In addition, Shabanov, being free, helped his mother, who has a disability of the first group.

The prosecution asked for Shabanov eight years in prison. In his last word at the trial, the musician asked to take into account that in the event of a prison term, his mother would be left without help. He said that "he realized his non -poatriotic acts, considering himself guilty of the state and the people of Russia," and assured that "this will not happen again."
