The Russian unit of the French company ATOS, which has the FSB of Russia, took part in the creation of the largest biometric data base in the European Union of Biometric Data Bloc. This was written by the newspaper Financial Times, referring to the documents and statements of sources that were at the disposal of the publication. According to them, the European prosecutor's office began an investigation on this matter.
As follows from the documents referring to the FT, the French IT group of ATOS in 2021 used the employees of its ATOS Russia division during the development of a new European entry/exit system (Entry/Exit System, EES). This project involves the creation of the largest database in the EU for the collection and storage of biometrics of all foreigners visiting the European Union countries.

According to the Russian Unified State Examination, ATOS Russia has a FSB license for “development, production, distribution of encryption (cryptographic) means, information systems and telecommunication systems”. According to journalist Andrei Soldatov, who specialize in the activities of the Russian special services, such a license gives the FSB “Black Move” to the activities of Atos Russia. “They can view everything that this company works on,” Soldatov claims.
