Georgia continues to evaporate epic with Europe. It is no secret that the European Parliament “Georgian Dream” does not complain and has already adopted five critical resolutions in Georgia. However, on February 12, the 400 euro deputies, of course, supported the most stringent call to the European Commission, which was not much different from the popular slogan of the protest streets of Tbilisi “Oligarchy - to the Fire!”.
“The European Parliament does not recognize the legitimacy of the self -proclaimed government of the Georgian Dream party. In the resolution, the deputies of the European Parliament called on the international community to join the boycott of the self-proclaimed authorities, whom they accuse of undermining the country's democracy and the suppression of dissent, and call for new, fair and free elections, ”this is not some interpretation of the incident of the Georgian opposition, but a message from the European parliament On the official page on social networks.
The resolution of the European Parliament also calls on the European Commission to impose sanctions against the entire family of the Honorary Chairman of the ruling party Bidzina Ivanishvili-his wife and four children are indicated by namely, a long list of relatives of the family, the prime minister, ministers of the government, the speaker of the Parliament, the mayor of Tbilisi, the judges of the Constitutional Court, the mayor of the Constitutional Court, is also attached. The heads of the National Bank and even the leaders of pro -government television companies.
The resolution condemned repression against peaceful demonstrators, political opponents and the media, accusing the “Georgian Dream” of violating human rights and democratic norms, usurpation of power, falsification of elections and a rollback from democracy.
Of course, the European Parliament demanded the immediate release of all political prisoners, including journalist Mzia Amaglobeli, which has been holding a protest hunger strike for more than a month.
It turns out from the document that the European Parliament refuses to recognize the president elected by the government for this post by Mikhail Kavelashvili and calls for European structures to cooperate only with the sixth president Salome Zurabishvili. It is she who is invited to invite the EU to the upcoming summit (usually the Prime Minister attend such events).

The European Parliament also directly criticizes the leaders of Hungary and Slovakia - Viktor Orban and Robert Fitzo - because their position prevents the European Union from establishing sanctions against Ivanishvili. As a result, the euro deputies urge to impose sanctions against the “Georgian Dream” national parliaments of the EU countries, as the Baltic countries and the Czech Republic have already done.
Also, in Strasbourg, for the first time they started talking about the fact that the agreement on the Association of Georgia with the EU should be revised, including a free trade agreement and a visa -free regime.
A separate paragraph of the Euro -deputies call to accelerate 120 million euros to the Georgian non -governmental sector and independent media - this is the financial assistance that, against the backdrop of a deterioration in relations, the European Commission refused to provide the Georgian government half a year ago.
The year has just begun, and the resolution has already become the second European fiasco, which the “dream” had to survive in Strasbourg. Prior to this, at the end of January, the ruling party itself excluded itself from the oldest European Institute - the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which has been composed since 1999.
The Georgian delegation decided to leave on its own initiative, when at the Winter Session of the Assembly it turned out that Georgia could lose the right of vote in one of the main bodies of the Council of Europe.
After voting with an indicative result of 114 for 13 against PACA, she decided to postpone the ratification of the mandates of members of the Georgian delegation before the "return of Georgia to the democratic path."
Clear conditions were set: the appointment of the new elections of the parliament and the release of “all political prisoners” - and this is about 50 participants in the protests in Georgia, who, after the detention, were charged with criminal crimes. At the same time, specific terms were named: until the next session of the Assembly, that is, until April. Pase explained its decision, including by the fact that "from the part of the Georgian authorities, there was still no condemnation of the cruelty of the police and other human rights violations."
Outraged by the requirement to appoint new elections, the head of the Georgian Dream delegation in PACE Theya Tsulukiani decided that it was better not to appear at the Assembly at all than to wait for April in anticipation of punishment, and stated that Georgia on its own initiative stops working in the assembly.

Tsulukiani, who herself began his career with work in the structures of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, accused Pase of "blackmailing the authorities chosen by the Georgian people" and "insulting the Georgian people." From Tbilisi, she was praised by Irakli Kobahidze, who called the decision of Tsulukiani "non -alternative."
In fact, Tsulukiani simply took an example from Kabahidze itself-it was he who in November last year announced the freezing of the negotiations on the entry of Georgia to the European Union, despite the fact that Georgia received the status of a candidate in the EU less than a year ago.
This decision, which provoked mass protests throughout Georgia, then Kobahidze then also explained to the unwillingness to succumb to “blackmail” from European structures.
The very next day after the adoption of the devastating resolution, Kobahidze announced that Georgia was ready to resume negotiations with the EU, but now “the decision should make Brussels.”
The prime minister of “Dreams” expressed his readiness to continue the process of negotiations with the EU, in an interview with Euronews: “The current state of our relationship does not suit us. We are interested in establishing a healthy relationship with the European Union, which is not at the moment, but we are sure that this is not because of Georgia’s policy. ”
Kobahidze blames the “European bureaucracy” in the problems, hopes that “in the coming years, the approach to Georgia will become more fair,” and advises the EU “to be more flexible in the approach to new members”.
The Supreme Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kai Callas, meanwhile, states that "Georgia does not live up to any expectations of the Candidate." Most likely, Callas watches Euronews, and there they show not only an interview with Kobahidze, but also protests in Tbilisi, including personnel on which people in black without identification signs mercilessly beat the demonstrators lying on the asphalt.
After the sixth devastating resolution of the European Parliament, the Georgian Dream gathered a political officer, whose participants, having consulted, predicted the EU to the European Union, a possible death from DIP Stete (Deep State, or the “deep state”). The term was taken by the “dream” into service with the light hand of Donald Trump and, according to the plan of imitators, should emphasize their solidarity with the 47th American president (although Trump himself, as Kobakhidze once explained, could not cope with this treacherous and mysterious force) .

As a result, the statement of the “Georgian Dream” in response to the resolution adopted in Strasbourg looked like this: “Either Deep State will destroy the European Union, or the European Union will find the strength to somehow get out of the influence of Deep State.”
This is Trump’s “remake” from 2023 that “either Deep State will destroy America, or we will destroy Deep State.” At the same time, the Georgian Dream was struggling to be diplomatic : “Just as we wish President Trump Victory in the fight against“ Dip Steit ”, we wish Europe to avoid the pernicious influence of Deep State. In this struggle, we will be on the side of patriotic Europeans. ”
By the way, before the vote in the European Parliament, Kobahidze said in advance that this resolution “Merk the Price”, and it would not harm Georgia. But right in Tbilisi, the Georgian Dream answered for the EU German Ambassador to Georgia Peter Fisher. And he spoke not about pennies, but about billions that the “bending” European Union plans to pay Moldova.
“Up to 1 billion 800 million euros - this amount of the European Union will allocate Moldova for 2025–2027 to prepare for membership in the EU. Meanwhile, in Georgia, some express concern in that Deep State can “destroy” the European Union. As an EU citizen, I do not agree with such fears, ” wrote in X Fisher.
I must say that the Moldovan European integration usually causes attacks of envy and anger among the Georgian authorities, since it was earlier that Georgia was considered the most successful in the “associated trio” with Moldova and Ukraine.
The Georgian opposition also often uses the example of Moldova - unlike Georgia, Moldova is very successfully going to the declared goal, although she did not particularly join the sanctions against Russia after the start of a full -scale war in Ukraine and did not open any “second front” on its territory.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the “Dreams” argued that it was precisely this - participation in the war and the introduction of their own sanctions against the Russian Federation - they demanded that Western leaders demand, which they resisted stubbornly so as not to pursue the country of the threat of Russia's military invasion.
And a little more about German diplomats: the German Foreign Ministry on the last day of 2024 announced that he banned the entry into the country of nine Georgian citizens who "are responsible for violence against protesters and representatives of the opposition in Georgia." The specific surnames were not declared, but most likely, this is the leadership of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the head of the police special forces, which have already entered the sanctions lists of several countries, including the United States and the UK.
In any case, the head of the Georgian government will not fall into an awkward situation at passport control in Germany, since the important European forum opening today - the Munich Security Conference - was invited not by Irakli Kobakhidze, but by Salome Zurabishvili.
The issue of Georgia at the conference will be discussed at a separate panel discussion, which is called - “Georgia in the spotlight”. Zurabishvili will also take part in the discussion "Hybrid Tactics of Russia".

Communication of the head of the Government of the “Georgian Dream” after the elections is limited by the closest neighbors-Azerbaijan and Armenia, and besides them, the list of seniority countries includes Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates, where Kobahidze has already been twice since the beginning of the year.
Western partners, with the exception of Viktor Orban, still avoid communication with the “dream” and are in no hurry to congratulate Mikhail Kavelashvili on the presidency. But the former football player was warmly congratulated by the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko - but this is in those circles where the “dream” hopes to return, rather, a compromise than an achievement.
Against this background, I am not very believed in the explanation of the government administration, according to which none of the Georgian officials would have gone to Munich, "even if he had received an invitation."
On the other hand, Kobahidze refused to visit Munich last year - then the media decided that the “dream” was offended that the founder and honorary chairman of the party of Bidzin Ivanishvili was mentioned as a “Russian oligarch” in the annual report of the forum. Perhaps now, just a year later, when American financial sanctions are already operating against Ivanishvili, in the Georgian Dream they recall those times with slight sadness.
