The filming service of Channel One fell under the Ukrainian shelling in the area of the village of Cherkaskaya Konopelka of the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region. This was announced by the acting head of the region Alexander Hinshtein.
The Investigative Committee said that on February 14, the Ukrainian military dropped an explosive device from the drone on a group of Journalists of the First Channel, who were preparing a television post.
As a result of the attack, the operator Yuri Sholmov suffered-presumably, he received a mine-explosive injury, fragmentation wound of the lower leg and acubarotraum (damage to the inner ear obtained due to excess pressure and a powerful sound wave).

The Channel One employee was hospitalized, and then sent for treatment to Moscow. His condition is evaluated as satisfactory. Sholmov himself said that after treatment he was going to return to the Kursk region.
After shelling in the Sudzhansky district, the UK opened a criminal case under articles about the terrorist attack (paragraphs “A”, “B” of part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code) and the obstruction of the legal professional activity of journalists (part 3 of article 144 of the Criminal Code).
Yuri Sholmov has been working as an operator on Channel One for more than 17 years. He attracted special attention to himself in November 2022 at the Great Twenty summit (G20) in Indonesia. The US President Joe Biden praised his biceps at that time.
“The biceps of this guy just scare me. They are more than my head. <...> Well, he has biceps. We call such guns, ”said Biden.
