In the Austrian Sasasse Mother's Baby, Johanna Moder, the famous heroine, the famous conductor Julia (Mari Loyenberger) immediately after giving birth begins to suspect that her newborn son is a found -found one, and her husband and environment - that she develops postpartum psychosis. On these swings - between a cold heroine who is not even able to choose a name for the child, and an ominous clinic - spectators ride until the last minute of the film.
A film with the unorthodox name “If I had my legs, I would have kicked you” ( if I had legs i'd kick you ), American Mary Bronstein tells the story of Linda psychotherapists (Rose Burn), whose life has gone downhill after The ceiling collapsed her house, and the water from a broken pipe flooded everything around. On the shoulders of Linda is a sick child, a missing patient, a husband on a business trip, and no one who could help her. Bronstein did not make a film, but a sensory overload: the picture is built on ultra -circular plans, Linda anxiety breaks all possible marks and floods the auditorium. Rose Burn is called one of the probable applicants for a silver bear for the best acting role.

But even if the child is not a quiet founding and not sick with anything, this is not a guarantee of happy parenthood. This was told by the German drama “What does Mariel know” (Was Marielle Weiß) Frederick Hambalek - a small victory of an independent and low -budget German cinema, at the morning show of which the whole hall of low and dumb critics laughed amicably. After the crack flew from her girlfriend, Mariel (Leni Gayzelier) begins to hear and see everything that her parents do, and a small fascist wakes up in her. Mother (Julia Yench) cannot secretly smoke and flirt with a colleague, and his father (Felix Kramer) - hide the fact that he is not respected at work. Hambalek is compared with Yorgos Lantimos, but where Lantimos shoots from a gun, Hambalek is content with a slingshot.
As a result: a chamber, but piercing film, about how a little lie corrodes trust inside the family.
The main Favorite of Berlinale, the film of Brazilian Gabriel Mascaro “The Blue Trail”, port. O último azul) . Brazia in the near future has turned into a fascist country that sends the elderly to the elderly colony. The main character Teresa (Denise Weinberg) in every possible way resists sent to the camp, although her daughter persuades her mother not to create additional problems for them (and in this film nothing good!). Teresa’s escape along the Amazon will bring her a meeting with unexpected fellow travelers, and the main find is a slug with a blue secret: if we have already drunk him in the eye (we have already seen something in the film “Dun 2” performed by Rebecca Fergyuson), you can see the future.

Another favorite is the new film by the Romanian director Radu Zhude, who was already winning in Berlin with “unsuccessful fuck, or crazy porn” in 2021. “Continental 25” (Kontinental 25) tells about the bailiff Orsol (Esther Tompa), which is in nine circles of the torment of conscience: the homeless, whom she was supposed to be evicted from the basement illegally occupied, hanged on the battery. Orsol’s hanging will tell a girlfriend, a fabric of ready -made food and priest, but instead of comfort, he will only receive someone else's picture of the world. Zhude, as in his other films, neatly pin the hypocrisy, indifference, dullness and nationalism to the cross, but does this not with a pedestal, but rather identifying with a hanged homeless one: on the one hand, a victim of capitalism, and on the other hand, in all respects, disgusting in all respects. type.
Richard Linklater brought to Berlin a picture with his beloved actor Itan Hawk - “Blue Moon” : this is a chamber film shot literally in two rooms, where Hawka’s game becomes the main special effect. Pesennik poet Lorenz Hart (Hawk) on the day of the premiere of the musical Oklahoma, the stunning success of his partner Rogers (Andrew Scott), written along with the new librettist Oscar Hammerstein, slowly gets drunk in Sardi's near Times Square. Spectators do not yet know, but Hart will die about three months later - from complications of pneumonia. Hart alcoholism destroyed them with Rogers Duet, and then the health of the poet. Hart gets drunk and broadcasts, and his monologue turns into a song unwritten to him. The role of Hart is already called the best in Hawk's career, and so far he is the main competitor Rose Burn for the acting prize of Berlinale.

Marion Cotillard came to Berlin to present the new film Lucille Hajikhalilovich “La Tour de Glace) - from the genre“ Film in the film ”. The main character Jeanne (Clara Pasini) falls on the shooting of the film about the Snow Queen. Although the name Hans-Christian Andersen has repeatedly sounded at the press conference, only the character of the Snow Queen remained from his fairy tale, and Khadzihalilovich did not explain what was happening, leaving the interpretation of critics and spectators. Jeanne is fascinated by the beautiful Christina (Marion Cotillard), and she begins to torment her. But enchanting and flour occur at super -fragmented speed, so the spectators who are unfamiliar with the work of Khadzihalilovich are suffered as a result. The heroines, it seems, she needs only to spend them along the dark corridors of the film studio, along the gloomy streets of Bolzano with burning lanterns and along the slippery paths leading to the top of the mountain.
The opposite effect is born by the film adaptation of another famous fairy tale - Cinderella - the Norwegian film “ugly half -sister” (The Ugly Stepsister) Emily Blickfeldt (no longer the main competition, but the Panorama section). There are no insoluble puzzles, only the change of optics: the main character is now not patient and beautiful Cinderella (Thera Sophie Loch Ness), and her combined sisters of Elvira (Lea Miren) and Alma (Ferli Fagerley). The “ugly half -sister” can be easily recorded in the sequels of the “substance” of Coral Farge, because it also themes crippling and painful beauty procedures. Elvira needs to be transformed to achieve a beautiful prince, and Emily Blickfeldt shows every step and the price and price of this transformation through the prism of horror and humor. The scene, like magic assistants, poke the dress as a Cinderella, it is impossible to forget. The fact that the “substance” was occupied by the transformation of the flesh was first asleep and then mutated - worms are taken over in the “ugly older sister”. The Soliter proto-spocation has never looked so disgusting.
It is not known what Hans-Christian Andersen would think about the film Lucille Hajikhalilovich (it is possible that he would approve), but the Grimm brothers would be delighted: finally, the adaptation of the desired degree of bloodiness!
