
Sitibank, who was leaving from Russia, began to send reports to customers about the opportunity to forgive their debts on loans, writes RBC.
The first to pay attention to this on February 20, the Digest Telegram channel. One of the users who received such a notification said that at the bank’s call center he was confirmed by the possibility of writing off a debt of 80 thousand rubles.
“CITibank KB JSC notifies you that in the framework of the rolling of the retail business, it was decided to forgive the total amount of debt on your loan and paying the loan insurance premium if you have an insurance program,” the bank says.
Later, official information about the possibility of forgiveness of loans appeared on the Sitibank website. The statement states that the organization will transmit information about the forgiveness of debt to the credit bureau.
According to RBC with reference to two sources in the financial market, the debt will be written off about 1 thousand contracts. According to one of the interlocutors, we are talking about problematic loans that Citibank could not sell to market players. The volume of such debt is not disclosed.
