The Minister of Health of Russia Mikhail Murashko said that more than 20 thousand doctors are not enough for the Russian medical system, TASS reports . The lack of average medical personnel is even more - more than 63 thousand people.
Murashko, claims that in recent years the Ministry of Health has been able to increase the number of doctors. So, from 2019 to 2024, the increase, according to him, amounted to 6.5 thousand people. At the same time, he mentioned a sharp decrease in this indicator in the covid 2020 - then the number of doctors decreased by 16 thousand people compared to 2019. But the deficit remains now - Russian medical institutions are not enough about 23.2 thousand doctors.

Murashko also said that he considers it necessary to “consolidate” graduates for medical institutions in order to solve the problem with the lack of medical personnel. Earlier, the preparation of the Ministry of Health of amendments to the Federal Law "On Education" was reported . In the case of their adoption, graduates who have studied at the expense of the budget will be required to work at least three years in a medical institution, and graduates of colleges - two years. In case of refusal, they will have to compensate the state with the cost of training in a two -time amount.
