In Russia, the share of Russians consuming alcohol is reduced, RBC reports with reference to Rosstat research data. The most unpopular of the alcoholic beverages was beer.
The study showed that 45 percent of Russians do not drink alcohol at all. Journalists note that this indicator has been growing over the past few years - in 2018, less than 40 percent of the respondents declared their rejection of alcohol.

Rosstat collected data using a personal survey of Russians in all regions of the country. In total, from May to June 2024, employees of the department interviewed 60 thousand households. Russians over 14 years old were asked about the frequency of drinking alcohol. Most of the Russian alcoholic beverages said that they do this once every few months (43.3 percent), almost 22 percent of Russians are in contact with alcohol every week and more often with alcohol.
The beer turned out to be a drink that the least Russians are consumed - more than 43 percent of the respondents stated this. The indicators of wine and strong drinks are lower - 38.3 and 33 percent, respectively.

Men consume alcohol much more often women, only 35.1 percent of men refused alcohol. Among the women of the nonsense turned out to be more than half - 53.1 percent. Also, women have much more often stated that they prefer wine and less often noted a tendency to use strong drinks.
RBC notes that officials also claim to reduce the share of alcohol for alcohol, but other studies show an increase in sales of alcoholic beverages in Russia.
