Macron presented a new settlement plan: it begins with a “partial” truce for a month

French President Emmanuel Macron in an interview with Le Figaro said Paris and London prepared a joint plan to stop the Russian-Ukrainian war. He performed a few hours after the European Security summit ended in London.

According to Macron, as part of the plan, the introduction of a partial truce for a period of one month is proposed. “Partiality” will be that the ceasefire will only apply to air and sea attacks, including attacks on energy facilities, but not to ground -based combat operations. According to Macron, compliance with the ceasefire on Earth "will be very difficult to check."

Macron also stated that at the second stage, within the framework of the European Country Plan, the peacekeeping contingent will be sent to Ukraine. He did not bring any details of this.

At the same time, the UK does not confirm Macron's words that the plan is already ready and agreed between Paris and London. British Deputy Minister of Defense Luke Pollard, in the comment of BBC, said that now "a whole set of options is being discussed." “None of them are agreed at this stage,” he emphasized.
