How Trump turns the war into a deal and posture into reality

The decision of the US President to suspend the supply of weapons to Ukraine was the first practical (and not rhetorical) means to “force” Ukraine to the world. According to Wall Street Journal, Donald Trump accepted it after Vladimir Zelensky’s statement that it was still far from a peace agreement. This is another not very cautious and, possibly, inappropriate remark of the Ukrainian president and became the main trigger for Trump, a messenger who once again questioned his ability to quickly ensure the world.

However, it is obvious that the decision to stop the supply of weapons was not a thunder among the clear sky. Because the sky over the American-Ukrainian partnership began to darken since the inauguration of Trump. Everything changed so rapidly that, now, reading these lines, no one will be surprised at the phrase “coercion of Ukraine to the world”.

Although two months ago it looked like a complete oxymoron and a mockery of international law. In the same way, the expression “American-Ukrainian partnership” has lost its meaning and now it itself sounds like a mockery.

Welcome to the world of post -truths, where manipulations destroyed facts, where vague desires and distorted ideas about reality replaced the reality itself and create a new one, adjusting it for themselves. And the chief architect of this new reality is Donald Trump, and not even that Donald Trump of the first cadence period, but the new Donald Trump, a kind of post-tram, who finally believed in his greatness, surrounded by fanatically faithful associates, not allowing thoughts, in order to argue with the owner of the White House and with all his strength supporting his reality.

And I would very much like that in this post -trampe reality, which, despite all its perversion and virtuality, gradually turns into reality, still a place for one quite objectively existing country remains.

The transformation of vague and ineffective geopolitical fantasies into imaginary reality began during the pre -election campaign and articulated in two key theses: “I will stop this war in 24 hours with two calls - Putin and Zelensky” and “If I were the president, this war would never have begun.” These words could not have paid special attention, since it was impossible to verify their truth a priori, well, and besides, this is the election, and whatever they say before the elections. But the frequency, perseverance and even automatism repeated these words with, turned them into an instrument of such neurolinguistic programming. Even self -programming, because first of all, these ideas have gained a hard -fingered truth in the imagination of the one who himself, without tired, repeated them.

Now they have gained some strange, non-existent reality, with which everyone, from the Prime Minister of Great Britain Stanmer to President of France Macron, is in a hurry to agree. Each, except, at least at the moment, Zelensky. The Zelensky, who himself at one time was not averse to playing with reality, asserting back in 2019, that he could "stop the war, stopping shooting" and "looking into the eyes of Putin." But Zelensky and his country, this very reality will then hit rockets, drones, ballistic, air bombs, Mariopol, Bakhmut very painfully ... Trump is sure that this does not threaten him, that his reality is true, and if the facts contradict it, the worse for the facts.

Trump's call to Putin did not bring the consent of the Kremlin owner to at least end fire. Well, the Trump reality, like the liquid and plastic antagonist of the Terminator, has recovered, and the victim of the war became the main culprit of the war. Isn't it supposed from the very beginning? Indeed, in reality, Trump should obey not only because he is weak, but also because he is to blame. And if he is not to blame, he must become him, if you, so strong, did not succeed in agreeing with another strong. Or, conversely, if you have agreed on this. To blame the weak. Which was shown to the whole world last Friday in the oval office.

An important plot of this Trump -imaginary reality is obviously the notorious transaction either according to rare -earth metals, or rare metals, or critical materials, or even in Ukrainian infrastructure. Although this imaginary reality can already be called Trump-Zelenskaya. Because it was the Ukrainian president who was the first to offer it. There is a lot of ambiguity to these most useful fossils: how rich the Ukrainian subsoils are, what is the cost of their prey, how beneficial is it, whether the data of geological intelligence is relevant ...

All these specific issues are left without discussion, and the transaction itself and their subject suddenly became the most reality.

But why did we not hear anything about such rare -earth metals of Ukrainian bowels before? Why did the Ukrainian oligarchs, who had not left the attention of these 30 years without a single milligrams of Ukrainian resources that would bring income, are still not interested in this wealth lying under their feet? After all, they had funds, and they were allowed to do all or almost everything.

Nevertheless, the deal on minerals suddenly became the fundamental history of everything - both the help of Ukraine and the conclusion of the world. In fact, the foundation of an imaginary post -trucial reality. Is there any game with your own voter?

As a matter of fact, the suspension of weapons supply is not so much a consequence of a grandiose skirmish in the White House, and not so much the aforementioned statement by Zelensky, but a consequence of the fact that the imaginary post -truthing reality was faced with objective reality. That Putin cannot be persuaded to make concessions that Zelensky, at least at the moment, could not be forced to sign something without security guarantees.

Therefore, Trump is trying to radically correct objective reality, to force her to obey his, invented. Where the surrender of the weak is a fair world, and a dubious resource agreement is a grandiose transaction that allows you to knock out some non-existent debts from Ukrainians, and to feel safe Ukrainians themselves. And the easiest way to do this, of course, is pressure on Ukraine. And the end of the supply of weapons.

In Ukraine, only one expert is looking at the situation - Vitaly Portnikov. In his opinion , for Trump, the main priority is the rapid end of the war, and not what will happen to Ukraine. And the right path for this is to stop supplying Kyiv with weapons.

If Trump is only a whip for Zelensky, then for Putin it is exclusively gingerbread, in the form of a possible removal of some sanctions.

According to the journalist, the American president expects to achieve several goals. Firstly, to persuade Putin to go to at least a minimum mitigation of the Kremlin’s firm position in the matters of the Russian-Ukrainian war, for example, to agree to a truce. So that it does not look at all like the surrender of Ukraine. Secondly, try to tear Russia from China.

The Ukrainian politics at first reacted to the news very stoically. Although it was not easy. Back on Sunday, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine officially turned to the US President, Congress and the American people, with gratitude "for supporting the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as for security and assistance packages that contributed to the stabilization of the situation on the front line."

But on Monday, having learned about the situation with weapons, the adviser to the president’s office Mikhail Podolyak wrote that a number of programs were already approaching the completion (bearing in mind that we are talking about the supply of weapons, the decision of which was made by the Biden administration) and added that he hopes to receive analogues of weapons from European partners. Hewas echoed by a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Fedor Venislavsky, claiming that Ukraine will have enough “strength of strength” for another six months, and also hoping for the aid of Europe.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal admitted that despite a number of risks associated with the suspension of weapons supply, the issue of territorial concessions from Ukraine is not discussed anywhere.

However, with European military support, not everything is so simple. A few hours later it became known that Hungary blocked the allocation of 20 billion euros by the European Union of Military Assistance to Ukraine.

And already on the evening of Monday, Vladimir Zelensky wrote on the social network X that Ukraine is ready to sit as soon as possible at the negotiating table, sign an agreement on minerals and security. That is how the Ukrainian president again outlined this document, closely connecting the meaning, which is most interesting to Trump (minerals), with Ukrainian interest - security. At the same time, Zelensky regrets that the meeting in the oval cabinet was not as expected, and thanks Trump for the provision of “Javelin”, which the Ukrainian president called the “turning point” of the moment.

Zelensky’s appeal appeared just on the eve of the American president’s appeal to Congress, which, in general, was correctly planned by step. Although the post of Ukrainian leader did not contain direct apologies, he was “sewn up” by Trump and expected messages: gratitude, “javelins” (a very important story for Trump) and, of course, willingness to peace and deal. A prominent Republican Lindsay Graham positively responded about this text, optimistically stating that “the best days ahead”. Will they be really the best for Ukraine?
