The Ministry of Justice announced the “foreign agents” of the former Soviet intelligence officer Sergei Zhirnov and Mediaxpert Vasily Gatov

The Ministry of Justice of Russia updated on March 7 the register of “foreign agents”, adding five people to it.

The register includes:

• Mediaxpert Vasily Gatov;
• Former Soviet intelligence officer and writer Sergei Zhirnov;
• Former municipal deputy of the Vyritsky city settlement of the Gatchinsky district of the Leningrad Region Anton Klimov;
• Blogger and author of the telegram channel about Georgia Nikolai Levshits;
• Abkhaz journalist and political scientist Hashig Inal.

Gatov, according to the Ministry of Justice, took part in the distribution of messages of other “foreign agents” and opposed the war in Ukraine. The rest of the added (like Gatov) distributed “inaccurate information” about the decisions and politics of Russian public authorities.

In addition, the Ministry of Justice excluded two organizations from the registry in connection with the liquidation of the liquidation: Free People LLC and non -profit partnership of promoting the spread of encyclopedic knowledge “Vikimedia RU”.
