The Russian army took control of the city of Sudzha in the Kursk region within its administrative borders, the Agency writes, citing map data from the Finnish OSINT project Black Bird Group and the LiveUaMap project. The territory under the control of the RF Armed Forces runs near Lugovaya Street in the south of Sudzha and the Gusinsky Swamp in the west.

The Ukrainian army, in turn, controls parts of the village of Zaoleshka, which borders Sudzha. Most of the village is located in the “gray zone” and is not controlled by any of the parties. At the same time, the LiveUaMap project reports that the villages adjacent to Sudzha are also controlled by the Russian army, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces control only three settlements in the Kursk region - Guevo, Oleshnya and Gonal.

The pro-Russian telegram channel “Rybar” reports that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are withdrawing the most combat-ready units from the Kursk region, clarifying that this decision was made so that Ukrainian troops do not fall into the “cauldron”, that is, so that they are not surrounded on all sides.

The founder of the Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT) project, Ruslan Leviev, also reports that Ukraine is going to withdraw troops from the Kursk region. In an interview with Dozhd, he said that “ in general, the history of the Kursk bridgehead is coming to an end, and Ukrainian troops are leaving .”

Russian state agencies and pro-Russian military commanders have also begun to massively disseminate videos showing Russian military personnel in the center of Sudzha, planting Russian flags on buildings in the city. Photos also appeared of Russian soldiers holding flags near the Suja administration building.

The Russian Ministry of Defense states that the army managed to regain control of more than 100 square kilometers of territory and 12 settlements. The Ukrainian side, represented by the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky, confirms the retreat of the Ukrainian army in a number of settlements in the Kursk region.
