In the Kirov region, courts began to ban sticker packs in the Telegram messenger, Nesting found. In total, by the beginning of March 2025, at least 33 sets of stickers were recognized as prohibited.
At the same time, the prosecutor’s office filed applications with the courts demanding a ban on sticker packs from December 2023. In total, from that moment on, five courts in the Kirov region examined 13 such cases and satisfied the demands of the prosecutor's office.
According to Kirov publications, Roskomnadzor will now have to include these sticker packs in the Unified Register of Prohibited Information. The decision can be appealed within a month.
Employees of the prosecutor's office claim that the sticker packs contained " images of Nazi symbols and paraphernalia, as well as symbols and paraphernalia of banned extremist organizations ." Thus, 14 of the 33 banned sticker packs were dedicated to Nazi themes - they contained stickers with Adolf Hitler, the Ku Klux Klan, skinheads and the Nazi Artem Bonov.
“ The Nazi ideology “stickers” provided for use in instant messengers promote extremism on social networks ,” Vorstka quotes the decision of one of the courts.
At the same time, the courts also banned sticker packs not related to Nazi themes. For example, the YellowBoi sticker pack was banned, since one of the stickers depicted a swastika on the character’s face, as well as sticker packs with memes that contained images of Alexei Panin, Leonid Volkov, Ramzan Kadyrov and Irina Yarovaya. In addition, these sticker packs contained pictures with the Ukrainian flag and coat of arms, as well as the words “Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!”
