The Basmanny District Court of Moscow received an inappropriate criminal case of lawyer Anastasia Burakova under the article on the distribution of “fakes” about the actions of the Russian military in Ukraine.
The human rights activist herself clarified that the reason for the persecution was the record of her performance at an anti -war rally in Tbilisi in 2023, which she laid out in Telegram.
Burakova then spoke to the actions of the Russian diplomatic mission that she herself moved to Kyiv shortly before the war: “No one thought that Putin was so distraught. Now he is waging a war on our behalf <...> His army, people who are zombie propaganda, destroy Ukrainian cities, torte people in the occupied territories, kill civilians. ”
Earlier, the persecution of Anastasia Burakova was not known. It was not introduced into the base of the federal wanted list of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to lawyers, the case was opened in the summer of 2024, and Russian law enforcement agencies turned to the Interpol to put it on the international wanted list, but received a refusal.
Anastasia Burakova was previously the chairman of the Open Russia movement Mikhail Khodorkovsky and the lawyer of the human rights project “Human rights postcards”.
