The woman tried to import more than seventy precious stones into Russia, hidden in her personal things and underwear. The imported smuggling was found during the inspection at the Moscow Domodedovo airport. This was announced by the official telegram channel of the Federal Customs Service (FCS).
The violator was a Russian woman. She flew to Russia from India and immediately proceeded to the “green” corridor, where she was stopped by the customs inspector. He watched her bag, where he found four multi -colored metal. Then he sent her for a personal search, in which she found another 75 green stones.

The examination showed that the Russian woman tried to carry out processed stones - emeralds, amethyst, cat's eyes and zirconium. The market value of 79 imported gems is more than 1.2 million rubles.
The woman stated that she bought precious stones to then make jewelry from them. She brought them in her underwear and in her bag, because she was afraid to damage. Now she faces up to five years in prison or a fine of up to a million rubles, since she can be attracted under a criminal article for the smuggling of strategically important goods (part 1 of article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
In January, Domodedovo took place another incident with a Russian woman who was returning to Russia from India. Customs officers found in her luggage a volcanic lava crushed in the sand in a bottle of water. The sand turned out to be radioactive.
