The US Agency for Global Media ( USAGM ) notified Radio Liberty that it cancel its decision to cancel its grant and resumes its financing. The letter was published in court documents on the response "Radio Liberty".
At the same time, it is noted that the agency has “the powers to terminate the grant later if the USAGM determines that such a termination is advisable in accordance with applicable law”.
The notification was signed by the former TV presenter from Arizona Carey Lake, whom Trump appointed senior adviser to the head of the USAGM . She was the author of the letter of March 15 on the termination of the Radio Liberty grant.
USAGM returned to the Radio Liberty grant after the American federal judge decided on restrictive measures during the consideration of the claim. He demanded that the agency “refrain from measures” to terminate funding approved by Congress.
The judge explained this by the fact that Radio Liberty in his arguments managed to show a high chance to win the claim that the continuation of his work “meets public interests”, and that USAGM did not motivate the cessation of the grant.
