Russian Lina Reznik found tons of Soviet money in the area of abandoned missile mines in the Vladimir region. The girl told about this in her blog "abandonment and travel" on VKontakte.
According to Reznik, in the forests of the region there are abandoned missile mines, where in Soviet times there were intercontinental ballistic missiles. After the collapse of the Union and the signing of the contract on the reduction of nuclear forces, the weapons were taken out, and the mines were mothballed, she says.
“Over time, the once secret military objects turned into swamps that would never have attracted our attention if no interesting fact. Billions of Soviet money are stored in them! ” - writes Reznik.

After the collapse of the Union, the authorities were faced with the need to dispose of a huge amount of Soviet money, since new bills began to be printed in Russia. It was impossible to burn them due to the large content of toxic substances in typographic paint, so the authorities decided to bury banknotes in closed missile mines throughout Russia.
“Most of the mines remained flooded and closed, but not near Vladimir. Here so much money was buried that some of them remained on the surface. The bags in which the bills were stored and now the marshy area around the mine has turned into a monetary dump, ”Reznik says in the publication.
According to her, now the land around the mines is dotted with “millions of colored pieces of paper”, which are not of any value. The coordinates indicated in the publication of Reznik correspond to a place near the village of Zhelezovo in the Vladimir region.
