On April 4, 2025, at the age of 40, the Russian rapper Pasha Technician (real name is Pavel Ivlev) died. Pasha Technician began the rap queer in the first half of the 2000s as part of the Kunteynir group. In addition to Ivlev, it also included MS funny. Early Kunteynir from the albums of “Gamno” (2005), “Weight” (2006) and “Boveburger” (2007) is a music that is sharply dissimilar to the Russian rap of the time. On the one hand, it was absurd, deliberately careless and made by freestyle (and not prepared rhymes) lines with an abundance of obscene vocabulary. On the other hand, it was a music written by a clearly vulgarity. It was guessed by broken electronics in the spirit of Flying Lotus and IDM , reminiscent of Aphex Twin. In fact, Pasha Technician is the rare person who is stuck between the counter-culture and pop culture, belonging to both at the same time.
