Russian manufacturer “Geranium” increased profits 45 times

Students of the Alabuga Polytech College are actively involved in the assembly of UAVs

The Albatross company, which assembles Shahed (Geran-2) drones used for attacks on Ukraine, earned more than 955 million rubles in 2024. This is 61% more than a year earlier, according to data from the State Accounting Resource (BFO), Vorstka noted.

At the same time, the company’s net profit grew much more strongly – by 4,350%. If in 2023 Albatross reported a profit of 9.7 million rubles, then in 2024 its size amounted to almost 430 million rubles.

Albatross is the largest manufacturer of drones from the Alabuga special economic zone in Tatarstan. The franchise company assembles the Geran-2 UAV, which is the Russian name for the Iranian Shahed-136.

Students from the Alabuga Polytech College are actively involved in assembling drones at enterprises in the special economic zone. Female students from Africa were lured to the educational institution itself for subsequent involvement in the assembly of UAVs through the dating apps Tinder and Badoo. Some of them said that they were “treated like donkeys” and “kept in slavery.”

Alabuga has been the target of Ukrainian drone attacks several times. In particular, buildings housing hostels for students were hit, and citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Congo, Kenya, Nigeria and South Sudan were injured.
