US President Donald Trump said a few days ago that the United States could get out of negotiations in Ukraine if it is not possible to achieve progress.
According to Axios, Trump announced this in a private conversation with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special representative of Steve Whitkoff and several more key advisers.
Rubio, in turn, at a meeting in Paris on April 17, told representatives of European countries and Ukraine that Trump could stop trying to achieve a peace agreement. According to one of the European diplomats, Rubio said that Trump was losing patience and could leave the negotiation process if the transaction is not reached in the near future.
In the meantime, Axios emphasizes, the United States still attempt to achieve peace. So, at a meeting in Paris, the American side presented the “contours of a durable and long -term world” in Ukraine.
