Colonel Stanislav Makshakov headed the FSB forensic institution, the Village publication reported on April 25, referring to the extract from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities . It follows from the document that Makshakov became the head of the institution on April 23, before that he served as deputy director.
The Institute of Forensics of the Center for Special Technology of the FSB, aka NII-2, is a division of the Federal Security Service, which conducts various examinations, and also manages several sites for the finalization and use of chemical weapons.
Stanislav Makshakov, as the authors of the investigation from The Insider, Bellingcat, CNN and Der Spiegel found out , led a group, which, allegedly, participated in the poisoning of Alexei Navalny “Novice” in August 2020.
