The American Corporation McDonald's applied to Rospatent for registration of the McDonald's trademark. It is reported by RIA "Novosti" with reference to the relevant documents.
“Now the application is under the examination of the declared designation. The chances of registration are certainly high, since the company retained the rights to all McDonald's key brands in Russia, ”Alina Akinina, general director of online patent, told the agency.

According to RIA Novosti, the company submitted an application in December last year, but it was published only this year. In April, the application was accepted for consideration. Mediazon notes that the specific reason for McDonald's appeal to Rospatent is unknown. According to the documentation, the company intends to engage in food and drinks, provide restaurant services and deliver its products.
Akinshina noticed that the name of the brand in the application is indicated in Russian. This, in her opinion, testifies to the “proactive monitoring of the Russian legislative field” by the McDonald's and the “interest of the company in returning to the Russian market”.
