The leaders of Serbia and Slovakia cancel measures for health reasons. Will they come to the parade in Moscow?

Less than a week before the Victory Parade on Red Square, the composition of its high -ranking guests remains obscure, primarily the premiere of Slovakia Robert Fitzo and President Serbia Alexander Vucic.

Apart from Alexander Lukashenko, Vucich and Fitzo are the only leaders of the European countries who promised to visit the parade. The European Union is sharply opposed to their trip to Moscow. In Brussels, it was repeatedly stated that this “does not correspond to the values ​​of the EU”, and Serbia, which, unlike Slovakia, is only a candidate for joining the European Union, directly threatened that the potential trip of Vucich would negatively affect the prospects for the country's accession to the community.

Yesterday, the Serbian media reported that Vucich “suddenly” fell ill during a visit to the United States, which began on April 30. He had to interrupt the trip and cancel several planned meetings. Upon returning to Serbia, the president was hospitalized, but they were discharged after a few hours. Later, doctors said that Vucich’s well-being worsened due to a sharp increase in pressure and that his condition is stable and satisfactory, but he will not be able to work for several days.

Against the backdrop of illness, Vuchich did not make any public statements about whether he will cancel his visit to Moscow or not. Last night, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Sinish Mali only publicly expressed the opinion that the president would “hold back the word” and come to the Victory Parade. Mali also said that “in the next day, two, three, when he will recover,” Vucic will make a statement about this.

Robert Fitzo, in turn, also canceled his participation in several events in recent days, Slovak television reported yesterday. In particular, he refused to participate in the celebration of Labor Day on May 1 and did not go to meet workers in the city of Nitra in the west of Slovakia.

Fit did not explain why he canceled these events, but the Slovak media suggest that this may be due to his state of health. In April, the prime minister also changed his schedule; He also stated that he was still experiencing “inconvenience” because of the assassination attempt a year ago.

Today, however, Fito directlyconfirmed that he intends to come to Moscow, and also said that he did not intend to discuss information about his state of health. In addition, he criticized the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky for his words about the “unsafe” presence at the parade.
