Communication problems may last until May 9

Most complaints come from users from Moscow, but failures in the work of operators are also observed in other cities - in St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Krasnodar. According to the telegram channel “Caution, News”, on May 5, Moscow residents received an SMS from the RSChS about possible “restrictions on Internet access in connection with ensuring the safety of ongoing festive events.” Baza writes that a rehearsal for the aerial part of the parade for May 9 is taking place in the capital.

The RSChS also stated that “interruptions” in the operation of the mobile Internet may be observed from May 5 to May 9 “in order to ensure security in connection with the preparation and celebration of the Victory Parade in Moscow.” The agency advised “to use wi-fi in the office, and make calls via regular communications.”

Operators claim that communications may be intermittent due to reasons beyond their control.

The press services of Beeline and Megafon reported that communications in Moscow may work intermittently for reasons beyond their control. T2 declined to comment.

Runet malfunctions occur almost every month. Thus, in March, users reported problems with access to Twitch, Deepseek, Figma, YouTube, TikTok, Discord, as well as in the work of telecom operators MTS, Megafon, Rostelecom, Beeline, T2, Yota and MGTS.

During some outages, the Internet becomes completely unavailable in a certain area, and sometimes certain services stop working. National republics and regions where protest potential is higher suffer the most from disruptions and shutdowns. “Layout” told what interruptions in the work of the Runet lead to and what the Russian authorities are trying to achieve in this way.
