Who believes in angels? Who the hell still believes in angels in our perverted, godless, continuously remembering God in vain world? The name of the album Who Believs in Angels? It is equipped with a question mark, but in fact there is no question here. Elton John believes.
Maybe a girl playing a pinball in one of the clips of the new album, is there an angel, visible angel? And there are still invisible ones, they slide through the air around us, and one of them lent his large blue wings Brandy Carlisle for one song. A tall American from the Forest Glukhomaniah attached them to the guitar and for five minutes became an angel, enjoying the accompanying under the accompaniment of Tapther Elton, who once with false modesty and humor called his album "Do not shoot me, I am just a pianist."
Souls shine in the darkness of the night, a clock with broken glass measured the time with long black arrows, a steel ball rushes around the painted field of a board game, morning strong coffee awakens to life, and Rock-Roll of Elton John sounds.
He makes, cuts, amuses rock and roll in memory of Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Marquise de Pompadur so that the guitarist is unable to stand still, dances with a guitar in their hands, and the chandeliers spin like wolves, faster and faster.
This second thing on the album may be the first for those who wake up with inescapable longing, who do not sleep in the night, who are stupefied from the stupidity and indifference of society, who do not know where to get strength to overcome the desert of another day. Here to take - from Elton.
How long have we have not heard this clear background, swift, like the hands of a virtuoso pianist on the keys, how long the legs of the table did not let on the dance, dropping the sheets of unnecessary manuscripts, coffee coffee cans filled with carrier pebbles and memories of happiness, and traffic jams from the bottles of port, drunk in the Cosytian Lane.
How long we have not seen this little pianist with the eyes of a dragonfly who loves naive-bright colors and defiantly tall heels, as he had not allowed us to swallow the driving sound of his melodies!
The album is filled with hints that it is clear to everyone who knows Elton since the time of empty heaven and yellow brick road. They blink color bulbs of memory and children's gaming room, in which invisible angels play in lotto and dominoes and drink wine, captain science fiction with a dirty brown cowboy, they intercede on a watch, and not thunder sounds from heaven, but a crocodile rod-such is the world of Elton, which was painted with all the colors of the rainbow, created by his imagination and energy.

Elton was never afraid to be bright, bright to the rampant in his silver overalls, red jackets, yellow shoes, green coats and so on throughout the palette. A red shirt under a black jacket, a gold earring in the ear, embroidered with comets and stars of sleeves, blue jackets in sparkles, purple jackets with huge black lapels, sheathed silver braid, - handsome! Bright collages were the covers of his albums, where octopuses with ears crawled out from under the piano and unprecedented birds the size of a rabbit hung in the air of fantasies. And its sound was always bright, in which the waves of the organ rose, with amazing accuracy, the guitars sang, and the expensive piano under his arms suddenly remembered its stormy young years in salons and night bars.
Once, entering a yellow brick road, Elton thought about what kind of music he would like to hear at his funeral. So the “commemoration for a friend” arose-an outstanding rock, magnificent and solemn, like the cathedral growing stalactites. He was then 26 years old. Now, when he was 78, in the title thing of the album, he returned to the solemn Gothic of the melodies - and laid a rose on the grave of Laura Niro, an unforgettable pianist who gave Souls transparency and tenderness.
Elton - his voice is recognizable among thousands of others, this strong, slightly stifled, cutting space voice, which can instantly go from drive into the lyrics, and out of sadness to love.
A person who recorded several dozen outstanding albums, an artist who collected stadiums, a composer, whose disheveled, painted head was funded for decades with melodies, with nervous tension and self -doubt entered work on a new album. From the studio on the Sanset Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, where The Doors and The Beach Boys once recorded their albums and drove Jennis Joplin into the first posthumous album, his excited cries and threats to cover the bench when he could not get the sound he wanted. In search of the desired sound, he wrapped the piano with a green quilted blanket and put on a tracksuit for the best shape. There, in this legendary studio, where almost half of the world rock and roll is recorded, everyone quarreled in countless doubles of recording and, in the end, overcoming all difficulties, made a strong album performed by energy and feelings.
The album shining like an impeccable golden tailcoat with butterflies of colored glass on the shoulders, performed by pure and naive feelings, with love, tenderness, longing and memory in each note - this album rolled through the fog and dope of life, spraying joy and fire around itself.
