Gladkov said that residents of the Belgorod region specially substitute cars for shelling to get compensation

During the meeting of the Government of the Belgorod Region, the regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that some residents did not specifically drive old cars in garages to get compensation after shelling. The publication “7x7” drew attention to this.

“I myself heard the conversations of relatives: our settlement is sheated, let's roll out the car from the garage, maybe they will fire - at least we will receive the money. The car is old, do not put anywhere, do not sell. <...> Groups begin to form, which individual residents are trying to head. They are trying to receive state assistance, in fact, having no reason for it, ”Gladkov said about the situation.

He also added that in social networks, residents of the Belgorod region require resettlement under the pretext of shelling in order to move to new housing at the expense of the state.

According to the data for February 2025, over the three years of the war with Ukraine, 13.9 thousand cars were damaged in the region, and two and a half billion rubles were spent on their restoration.

According to the Telegram channel "Pepel", at least 1432 Belgorodtsy died from the beginning of a full-scale invasion. At least 185 troops are listed as missing.
