
The former president of Bashneft and former member of the Federation Council from Udmurtia, Viktor Khoroshavtsev, is wanted in a fraud case . The Tverskoy Court of Moscow arrested him in absentia. The decision was made on March 29, TASS reports with reference to the court file.
Khoroshavtsev is accused of fraud on an especially large scale. Details of the criminal case are not disclosed.

Viktor Khoroshavtsev is 72 years old and comes from Udmurtia. In the mid-1990s, he and his partners founded the Aspek company, which continues to operate today.
In the late 1990s - early 2000s, he headed the Ural Trust Bank, Belkamneft and other companies. In 2009, he became the general director of Sistema-Invest, a structure of AFK Sistema, which at that time controlled the entire fuel and energy complex of Bashneft.
Khoroshavtsev was also involved in politics. In 1995, he was elected to the State Council of Udmurtia, and in 2000 he headed the regional branch of the Unity party. From 2003 to 2009 he represented Udmurtia in the Federation Council.
Last year, Khoroshavtsev’s name was mentioned in the case of co-owners of the Russian Funds investment group Sergei Vasiliev and Konstantin Beirit regarding the theft of almost nine billion rubles from non-state pension funds, including the First National Pension Fund.
The defendants said that in 2013 they sold him and the management company Pallada Asset Management to businessman Evgeny Novitsky and his partner Viktor Khoroshavtsev.
