Moscow allows the opportunity to meet Putin and Zelensky - but not now

This afternoon, the Kremlin represented by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov officially commented on the results of yesterday's negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul.

Peskov said that in Moscow they consider it possible to meet the presidents of Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky, but not now, but only after the delegations of the negotiators will come to “certain agreements”.

“Such a meeting as a result of the work of the delegations of the two parties when reaching certain agreements of these delegations we consider it possible, but it is precisely as a result of the work and upon reaching certain results in the form of agreements of the two parties,” Peskov said.

The representative of the Kremlin did not specify what kind of “agreements” are implied. He also noted that so far there is no talk of a change in the composition of the Russian negotiation delegation.

Peskov refused to comment on the conditions that, according to the media, the Russian delegation put forward during negotiations. In particular, the journalist of The Economist Oliver Carroll reported that Russia threatened Ukraine with the capture of Sumy and Kharkov regions and demanded the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the entire territory of four annexed regions. According to Bloomberg, representatives of the Russian Federation demanded that Ukraine have adopted a neutral status, refuse the possibility of deploying foreign troops on its territory and from the requirements of reparations by Moscow.

Peskov said that, according to Moscow, negotiations should be conducted “absolutely behind closed doors”, so the Kremlin later intends to officially comment on their move either now or later.

The presidential spokesman confirmed that Russia is preparing a list of conditions for the ceasefire-that the negotiators agreed to register such lists in detail and exchange them during the next round of negotiations, the head of the Russian delegation Vladimir Medinsky said the day before. “What exactly will be there? Probably, you should not announce. I repeat once again: negotiations still go and should go on a closed mode, ”Peskov noted.

The Kremlin spokesman also said that Putin did not contact US President Donald Trump after negotiations. Vladimir Zelensky and the leaders of European countries immediately after the end of the meeting, as reported, talked with Trump on the phone.

At the very beginning of the war, I tried to justify Putin’s actions, believed in the words that “Zelensky provoked”, and - O gods! - I thought better of it, in just two weeks, common sense has returned to me. I realized that no action can provoke a war, murder, violence, and so on. Putin is a real pus in the history of Russia, but even worse that the Russian people (mainly people of 40-60 years old, but there is a certain percentage of youth) will not wake up from a “trouble -free dream”, they watch TV, rejoice in the salute on May 9, call Ukrainians “crests” and complain about the slow -down Internet. Despite inflation, bending salaries and corruption, they go to vote for Putin. "Fuck, are you fucked up?" - I want to ask <...>.

The current war is slow necrosis within the Russian society and the country itself. But the Russian people will endure this, as they endured before. How I always endured. Because when it was still possible to say, he put his tongue in the ass, and now he can only complain in the four walls of his house (so that, God forbid, they do not make denunciation).

I am grateful to Navalny, and Yashin, and Nemtsov, and Gorin, and to all other public and political figures, who really spoke, shouted, went to rallies, entered the detachment of resistance. And all the other civilians who, instead of work or study, found courage and went to unauthorized rallies. I admire you guys.
