The governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin announced the creation of a “demographic special forces” for a dramatic counseling of residents of the region. He reported this in his telegram channel.
The program was developed by the non -profit organization "Institute of Demographic Development" together with regional ministries of social policy and healthcare. According to Nikitin, the main goal of the initiative is to force women to refuse an abortion at the initial stage.
The official clarified that the operators of the Demographic Special Forces will identify the first requests on the Internet when a woman begins to doubt and seek information "about the termination of pregnancy, and offer her consultation. In the event of such requests in search engines and social networks, women will be offered to visit the Save.rf website and call the hotline phone.
According to Nikitin, before the assembly consultation could only be carried out at the stage when the woman had already decided to abortion and prepared for the procedure.
“According to the experts of the institute, such a measure can affect a decrease in the number of abortions to 15%. It’s not even a percentage, because every saved life is already great value and happiness. And for us, the launch of “demographic special forces” is another step in the implementation of demographic policy, ”the official emphasized.
In recent years, the Russian authorities are actively fighting abortion, in several regions in private clinics de facto banned conducting pregnancy abortion operations.
The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation said that from 2022 to 2024 the share of women who managed to dissuade from abortion increased from 21.2% to 24.7%. The Chechnya said that everyone who wanted refused the operation.
The Ministry of Health considers the pre -analysis consulting an effective method of abortion, and an increase in the total birth rate is one of the indicators for which the effectiveness of governors is evaluated .
In early February, the Governor of the Vologda Oblast Georgy Filimonov proposed to completely ban abortion in the region. The official also promised compensation to clinics who refuse to conduct an artificial termination of pregnancy.
