Upninsky City Court sentenced the local resident Zakhar Petukhov in the case of the distribution of “fakes” about the Russian army (part 1 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code), the press service of the courts of the Kaluga region reports .
He was appointed two years of forced labor with a deduction of 10% of the salary in state revenue.
It follows from the court’s card on the court’s website that the verdict was sentenced on May 27.
The reason for the persecution was a message in the chat of the house, which Petukhov sent in December 2024. He wrote about the mass murder of civilians of the Ukrainian Buchi by the Russian military.
The press service of the court indicated that on April 3, 2022, the Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement in which it denied accusations of murders of civilians:
“From the [official publication] it follows that during the location of this settlement under the control of the Russian Armed Forces, not a single local resident suffered from any violent actions, as well as that any other information supposedly testifying to some“ crimes ”of Russian military personnel in the city of Buch Kyiv region is another provocation.”
The court concluded that Petukhov “misled the participants in the house chat regarding the legality of the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation during his own, and also undermined the authority and discredited the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the eyes of the company, causing citizens who are familiar with the above statement, a sense of anxiety, fear, anxiety and insecurity by the state.”
The man fully pleaded guilty.
The criminal case against Petukhov became known in early March. Local media reported that he was detained by the FSB officers, and published a video of a man’s apology. During the investigation, he was placed under house arrest.
