The court of appeal was tightened by the sentence to the military from the Irkutsk region Sergey Taltykin, who was convicted of the case of justification of terrorism (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code), calls for extremism (part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code) and calls to activities directed against the security of the state (clause 2 of article 280.4 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the OTD-Info in the press service of the court.

On May 26, in the appeal of Taltykin, a term of a general regime colony was increased. He also changed the ban on activities - instead of a four -year ban on electronic correspondence and sending messages in messengers, he was assigned a ban on sending only public messages in instant messengers for the same period. The restriction of freedom for one year was upheld.

At the same time, the Court of Appeal canceled the additional punishment of the deprivation of Taltykin’s military rank “Senior Lieutenant” and the special titles “Captain of Justice” and “Major of the Internal Service”.

The court of first instance sentenced Taltykin in February 2025. Then he was appointed two and a half years in a colony and a fine of 300 thousand rubles.

The press service of the 2nd Eastern District Military Court reported that an officer opposing the war in Ukraine published messages with the acquittal of terrorist attacks in a telegram, as well as calls for “violent actions against Russian citizens” and “the provision of moral and financial assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the period of his own.”
