
The commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Mikhail Drapaty, resigned after the Russian army struck a missile blow on June 1 to the location of the training unit of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at one of the training grounds in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
According to the press service of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces, as a result of this attack, according to preliminary data, 12 people died, more than 60 were injured. The command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine created a special commission and appointed an official investigation.
According to the Ukrainian media, the drapaty considers himself guilty that he could not fully ensure the implementation of his orders.
“I decided to submit a report on the resignation of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is a conscious step dictated by my personal sense of responsibility for the tragedy at the 239th training ground, as a result of which our warriors were killed,” wrote the drapate in his telegram channel.
During the blow on June 1, no personnel were carried out. They emphasize in the Armed Forces: if it is established that actions or inaction of officials led to the death or wound of military personnel, the perpetrators will be brought to strict responsibility.
Judging by the AFU report, the blow was struck in the area of responsibility of the Vostok operational command, whose headquarters is located in the city of the Dnieper and which operates in five regions of Ukraine: Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Lugansk and Kharkov.
