The mayor of Warsaw with a minimum march leads in the presidential election

The mayor of Warsaw Rafal Tshaskovsky, supported by the ruling "civil coalition", is a minimum march in the second round of the presidential election in Poland. This is evidenced by the data of the eczitpols, reports Polskie Radio.

According to the results of the surveys, Tshaskovsky scored a little more than 50% of the vote. His rival Karol Navrotsky, nominated by the Conservative Party "Law and Justice", received a little less than 50%.

Tshaskovsky has already announced his victory. “I would like to thank all the Poles for every voice,” he said.

Tshaskovsky has been the post of mayor of Warsaw since 2018, adheres to the pro -European and liberal policy. He is supported by the "Civil Coalition" led by Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Navrotsky was supported by the Conservative Party "Law and Justice", to which the departing President Andrzej Duda belongs. He was the head of state for two consecutive terms.

Since February 2024, Navrotsky has been wanted in Russia in the case of dismantling the monuments of the Red Army in Poland.

In the first round of the elections, held on May 18, Tshaskovsky scored 31.4% of the vote, ahead of Navrotsky by less than two percentage points.

The head of the Polish National Electoral Commission Sylvester Martsinyak said that the announcement of the results of the second round of elections will depend on the rate of transfer of ballots from abroad. Official results are expected on Monday, June 2.
