He explained that he did not sign the declaration, because its text contains the requirements of sanctions against Russia. The declaration condemns Russian aggression against Ukraine ”and includes calls for additional sanctions, the withdrawal of Russian troops, the support of Ukraine’s membership in the EU and NATO and the creation of a special tribunal for Russia.
On June 11, President of Serbia Alexander Vuchich arrived in Ukraine on the first official visit from the beginning of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.
The purpose of the Vucich’s visit is to participate in the Southeast Europe summit, the presidential administration of Serbia said. The trip will last one day. The visit was not announced in advance.
In the course of his introductory speech at the summit, Vucich said that Serbia was ready to help in the restoration of one or two Ukrainian cities or regions in order to “clearly demonstrate support to Ukrainians”. He also emphasized that Belgrade supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
