Actually, why an unexpected anniversary? The conversations that Andropov has added a year for himself, went in his environment for a long time. This was written by his closest assistant Vladimir Kryuchkov and explained everything. In April 1932, when admitting to the River College, Yuri did not have only three months before the cherished age of 17. He solved the problem by "aging" himself for a year. Resolutely and simple. Well, then no longer began to change anything.
There were many such cases during the years of wars and revolutions. And most often, people who added their age, subsequently did not change anything. They even joyfully realized that they would retire before. Now, if on the contrary, then there is a trouble. Having decreased the age, and this is more often women, usually shortly before retirement, they realized and, collecting documents, returned the real year of birth to the passport. That's right: why process when you can already receive a pension?
Having reached the level of political fame, Andropov was no longer able to regain a true year of birth.
This would cause bewilderment. Moreover, he already had a lot of white spots and defaults in the biography. So the revelations and stories of his assistants remained the property of a narrow circle of people. And all this did not affect the official Soviet "holy", when the date of birth of a prominent figure made there stood firmly, for certain and irrefutably.
Well, it's time to refute the unshakable. And to help - a document in which corrections eloquently indicate when and how the real date of birth of Yuri Andropov was changed.

But everything is in order. Immediately comes to mind - all the troubles from the press. If young Yuri Andropov had not read newspapers, then, perhaps, nothing would have happened. And it all started everyday. He came across an announcement published on March 10, 1932 on admission to the Rybinsky River College. It was indicated in it by a 17-year-old qualification for admission to the shipping department. The solution to the problem came instantly: you need to make an amendment to the certificate of graduation and “grow old” for one year. The school director personally corrected the year of birth-the 1915th on the 1914th and on the fields on the left attributed: “Fixed [to believe] for 1914. Having fastened the school with a round seal of the school. Well, there is incomprehensible-you need to help, your guy. The director knew Yuri's parents very well. In the same school-seven-year-old school, the mother of Andropova, Evgenia Karlovna (according to the second husband of Fedorov, and in the girlishness of Flekkenstein) worked as a teacher, also worked in Yuri's stepfather, Viktor Fedorov. Andropova’s mother died in the spring of 1931, which could not but cause the director of the school of sympathy and a hot desire to take part in the fate of the student.
And here is the document: on June 26, 1931, the name of Andropov Grigory Vladimirovich (Andropov had two names-Yuri and Grigory) issued a certificate of the end of the Mozdok Factory-Zavodskoye Semylette school, in which he studied from June 14 to June 14, 1931. Initially, in the certificate, the date of birth is indicated on June 16, 1915-this is what it is true.

But there was a second obstacle - a birth certificate. And here everything is just as simple-they issued in the City Council on March 17, 1932, but with the right year of birth. No, Andropov did not steal the form in the City Council and did not fill it out personally. He simply received the certificate retroactively, and it could be filled with the words of the applicants - Yuri Andropov and his stepfather Fedorov. And it is clear why then Andropov shook his stepfather as an undesirable witness.
In general, it is worth considering how (and most importantly, on the basis of what) in a detachment of not 200 kilometers from the village of Solo-Dmitrovskoye (in the same place of the Nagutskaya station) the city of Mozdok, located in a completely different administrative district, could write out a birth of Yuri Andropov. Fedorov, who lived until the mid-1960s, did not differ in conversation. The higher his stepson, the denser Viktor Alekseyich, the mouth closed. I understood everything! As people who knew him recall: “He was a restrained, serious person. He spoke little about Yuri Vladimirovich. Probably because Andropov, after all, was a post. ”
Yuri turned the whole case with documents rapidly. His quickness is amazing. In just a week and a half, he straightened the necessary papers and already sent them to Rybinsk on March 22. He attached excellent characteristics and, of course, a letter from the secretary of the party cell and the spelling of the Mozdok station petitioning for his admission to the technical school “as one of the most active workers”. In his statement, Andropov asked him to accept him to a technical school and added: “I also ask me to provide me with a hostel and scholarship, since I have no means of further existence.”
The answer came surprisingly quickly. Andropov was enlisted “without testing” for the 1st year of the shipping department and on April 11 was informed about this with a letter: “We suggest that you come to the technical school for referral to preliminary summer swimming practice by April 25, taking with you bedding.” So - immediately to the ship. Yes, a common thing, navigation with personnel in the rivers has always been tight. And already in the same summer, Yuri Andropov twisted the helm.

Upon arrival, he was immediately credited with the sailor to the towing ship "Professor", where he began navigation of 1932. An attributed to the Rybinsk pier, a relatively small tug with a capacity of 160 horsepower was the first ship for Andropov, where he comprehended the basics of river swimming. Already in June, the sailor Andropov received an excellent characteristic: “He was good at his duties. It can go helm. There was a pre -person. The work did well. " This is an assessment! A new life began, and for the sake it was worth doing only a little-just a year of birth to correct. And it turned out that it was forever.
Andropov is not the only ruler of the country whose anniversaries were noted on wrong dates. The archive has a record of the metric book about the baptism of Joseph Dzhugashvili (Stalin) with the date of birth on December 6, 1878
(according to the new style, this is December 18 of the same year). Meanwhile, during the life of Stalin, the official date of his birth was considered December 21, 1879. And what? Stalin “rejuvenated” himself, Andropov - “erased”. But both in history textbooks are given with fictional dates of birth. Moreover, unlike Andropov, the reason why Stalin changed his year of birth is unknown. The practical meaning is completely not visible here. But for sure there was also some reason.
The myth or invented reality more than block true facts. But this is in the mass consciousness. Meanwhile, nothing prevents the amendments to the encyclopedia. And this must be done.
