Foreign Ministry of Ukraine: Russia has been ignoring the proposal about a truce for 100 days

For a hundred days, Moscow has been ignoring the US offer of a temporary ceasefire, the Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga recalled . He emphasized that Kyiv all this time agreed to cease fire without preliminary conditions.

“Ukraine remains devoted to the world. Unfortunately, Russia continues to choose a war, ignoring the efforts of the United States aimed at the termination of murders. The time has come to act now and force Russia to the world, ”Sibiga said.

The diplomat expressed the opinion that only “peace through force”, in particular, the tightening of international sanctions can act on Russia.

The United States proposed to Russia and Ukraine to conclude a 30-day truce throughout the front line, as well as at sea and in the air, at a meeting with representatives of Ukraine on March 11. Vladimir Zelensky said on the same day that Kyiv was “ready to take such a step”, provided that this will go to Moscow.

Russian President Vladimir Putin then stated that Russia also looked positively at the establishment of a truce, but emphasized that there are nuances. In particular, he expressed doubts about how much it would be possible to organize effective monitoring of compliance with the ceasefire throughout the front line.

In mid -March, the United States individually agreed with Russia and Ukraine on the termination of attacks on energy infrastructure. The parties could not agree even the formal date of the start of the termination of the blows - and over the next month they regularly accused each other of disrupting the agreement. After 30 days it was not extended.

Later, the position of Russia to establish a truce tightened. In the memorandum , which in the negotiations in Istanbul, the Russian delegation transferred the Ukrainian one, it was stated that the condition for even a temporary ceasefire Moscow sees a preliminary retreat of the Armed Forces from the territory of the Ukrainian regions, which Russia announced in 2022 about the annexation.

The bill on "crushing" sanctions against the Russian Federation has been postponed due to the war of Iran with Israel

The US Senate postpones the consideration of the sanctions on the sanctions against Russia at least until July against the backdrop of the war between Israel and Iran, writes SemaFor.

The bill was submitted by the senators of Lindsay Graham from the Republican Party and Democrat Richard Blmental in early spring. In its initial version, he provided for duties of 500% of imports in the United States from third countries buying Russian oil, oil products, natural gas or uranium. The authors themselves called the sanctions "crushing." 80 out of a hundred senators have stated their readiness to support the bill.

Subsequently, Graham and Blumenthal began to finalize the bill in order to protect the allies of Ukraine from secondary sanctions for trade with Russia.

Now Graham states that with the adoption of the document “you have to wait a bit” because of the start of the war between Israel and Iran. He noted that the most likely time of consideration of the document is now seen July, emphasizing: "Iran is now in the spotlight, but this does not mean that I forgot about Russia or Ukraine."

Blumenthal previously stated that the authors of the bill are negotiating with the White House to receive the approval of Donald Trump. In early June, The Wall Street Journal wrote that the presidential administration is not publicly trying to force the authors to mitigate the bill - in particular, to add exceptions to the document that would allow the president to choose himself, with respect to whom restrictions will be introduced. The publication noted that Trump fears that the adoption of a document may damage its attempts to improve relations between the United States and Russia.

Anna. The whole war I thought a lot about the fact that I was very lucky. And that is why I constantly feel shame and guilt. I have not left Russia: it is difficult, a good knowledge of the language is needed, you need to change something in my career, which I’ve been building in Russia for ten years, pay a mortgage for another 15 years, a child. But the main reason why I stayed is that I have a very small world, my safe circle from loved ones, and it did not split.

The war minimally affected me directly. My father and husband were not subject to call, military registration and enlistment office should be interested in them in the very last of possible queues. My parents both quite critically perceive the news from the television - the history of my family is closely connected with Ukraine, it is obvious that they condemned her. I don’t want to talk about my husband, we are politically on the same wave for 10 years of our relationship. But the most amazing thing is that even the circle of communication did not change: my closest friends and colleagues are all against the war [...]. Since 2022, I involuntarily accuse myself of the fact that I did not suffer from this “schism along the line of my” (unless I stopped listening to half of those musicians whom I listened - a completely insignificant payment for being against the war). This is not a hopeless darkness: on the contrary, my loved ones are my hope for the best and solid rays in our nightmare country.

More than anything, I want the war to end. But my opinion is unlikely to be very popular: I can’t imagine how to take some kind of truce along the current front line. This is terribly unfair to Ukraine and Ukrainians. I would be happy if there was at least some chance with a complete return of the territories, including Crimea, I would pay reparations, with pleasure and full return, looking for ways to participate in the restoration of the destroyed by the Russians. But our ways to influence Putin are completely insignificant and ephemeral, there are no elections, public activity is impossible and dangerous (and what will happen to my child, if they put me down? My main debt to grow it, in love and at least some kind of security, and it will not be possible to engage in education from prison). Against the backdrop of monstrous deaths, shelling, drones ... I just can’t imagine how to live any Ukrainian who has lost a child because of the crimes of my country. Personally, I clearly did not have enough to stop it - it’s not enough to vote against Putin, it’s not enough to talk about the war. And, apparently, with this fault I will live all my life. Despite the fact that the Russians have long been distanced from their top, I still feel my personal responsibility: once I believed that you can live in pre-war Russia, talking about political exclusively at home, at night, in the kitchen. Despite all the alarming calls, which were many. Of course, it turned out not. Not enough.

But life does not really prepare us for how to resist this madness, there is no perfect recipe for how to protect everyone, and not just ourselves. We are powerless. I admire the political prisoners, but it seems to me a few ... excessively demand from each disagreement to be a hero and lose everything for the truth. “I often think that I will tell my child if he asks me once:“ Where were you in 2022? ” I guarded my little world. In horror. Cried in the kitchen. Will my child forgive me for not really fighting for the world in which he lives on ...
