Putin again talks about Russian conditions to end the war

Russian President Vladimir Putin, after a plenary session at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, gave an interview to Sky News Arabia. In it, he again repeated the Russian conditions to end the war.

He noted that Moscow insists on Kiev’s recognition of the results of “referendums” carried out on the annexed parts of the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions, as well as in the self -proclaimed DPR and LPR. In his opinion, ignoring these results "means that there are a chance of resuming an armed conflict."

In addition, Putin believes that Ukraine must agree to neutrality, that is, not to enter into any foreign alliances and refuse to place nuclear weapons. According to the President of the Russian Federation, these steps are the basis for "long -term stability in the region."

He again repeated his words that Moscow and Kyiv were close to the agreement in the spring of 2022 in Istanbul.

“I hope that the current leaders of Ukraine will be guided by national interests, and not the interests of the third parties. <...> Ukraine deserves a better fate than to be an instrument in the hands of external forces working against Russia, ”Putin quotes Sky News Arabia.
