The United States lifted the sanctions related to the expansion of the Hungarian nuclear power plant PAKSH, said the country's foreign minister Peter Siyyarto, who is quoted by the Komárom-Sestergom news portal.
The sanctions were imposed by the previous administration of Joe Biden. According to Siyyarto, they were aimed at "undermining the long -term safety of energy supply to Hungary by introducing restrictions on the construction of the PAKS nuclear power plant, which made its continuation almost impossible."
The Foreign Minister of Hungary expressed gratitude to the administration of Donald Trump. He added that the production of equipment for nuclear power plants continues in Russia and France, and now "construction can get a new impulse."
