The Higher School of Economics has ceased to accept the results of five language exams for entering the university and a re-registration of English related to British Council (British Council), the Student Union of the Faculty of Creative Industries, the InsideHse telegram channel and the edition of the Thunderstorm .

So, the university has stopped receiving IELTS, CAE, CPE, Bec Vantage and Bec Higher certificates. Previously, the Higher School students could use the certificates of these exams in order to re -portal for an option for elective, internal and independent exams in English, as well as for admission to the university.

Now the HSE accepts only the results of the TOEFL International Exam and the Lingwotest SCT - the Russian analogue of the English language exam, which was developed by the University itself.

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation on June 5 announced the “unwanted organization” of British Council (British Council). The department said that the Council supposedly "promotes long -term British interests and values in the field of education, culture and youth policy." In Russia, the British council has not been working since 2018.
