The Serpukhov City Court of the Moscow Region in absentia sentenced to seven years in prison the teacher of the Russian language and literature Natalya Taranushenko in the case of Fakes about the army (paragraphs “A” and “D” of part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code), reports “Mediazon” with reference to the press service of the court.
The decision was made on June 23, but it became known only today. The court also forbade Taranushenko to work as a teacher for three years.
The case against Taranushenko became known in the summer of 2024. The reason for the persecution was the classroom “Lesson of Good”, which Taranushenko held back in 2022. In this lesson, the teacher told schoolchildren about the crimes of the Russian army in Buch, showed several videos from the Ukrainian media and called the Russian Federation invasion of international law.
Parents of schoolchildren wrote complaints about the teacher: a war member in Ukraine Artem Alexandrov and entrepreneur Dmitry Naavgust, who sends help to the front. Soon Taranushenko left Russia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation put her on the wanted list.
In July 2024, the teacher was detained at Yerevan Airport at the request of Russia, but soon released.
