The deputy head of the Navy Mikhail Gudkov died in the war

In the Kursk region, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Major General Mikhail Gudkov, died. Information about this officially confirmed the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

According to the Ministry of Defense, Gudkov died on July 2 "during combat work in one of the border regions of the Kursk region." The department does not give other details.

“Radio Liberty” even before the official reports of Gudkov’s death with reference to sources wrote that Major General died as a result of a himars missiles on the village of Korenevo. The local publication “Pepel” clarified that the blow was inflicted on a private house where the command post of the 155th separate guards brigade of the Marine Corps of the Pacific Fleet, which Gudkov previously commanded. Together with him, reported the All -Russian public organization of the Typhoon marines, 11 more military were killed - including the new brigade commander and his deputies.

Gudkov was 42 years old. He served in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation since 2000, took part in operations in Chechnya and in Syria. He became commander of the 155th separate guards brigade of the Marine Corps of the Pacific Fleet by the beginning of the 2020s.

From the very beginning of the full -scale invasion of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Gudkov brigade was part of the Vostok troops and fought in the South Donet. In August 2024, when the Armed Forces of Ukraine invaded the Kursk region, the brigade was transferred there.

Gudkova was appointed to the post of Deputy Commander -in -Chief of the Navy four months ago. President Vladimir Putin personally informed him personally during the communication with the submariners of the nuclear submarine cruiser Arkhangelsk. The zone of his responsibility included the command of the entire naval corps of the Navy, as well as missile and artillery coastal troops.

The Pentagon’s decision to partially stop the supply of weapons to Ukraine to conduct an internal audit and assess the number of remaining reserves “stunned even those who are usually informed about such matters,” including congressmen and officials of the State Department, Politico writes with reference to sources. This publication was the first to report the delivery two days ago that deliveries would be stopped.

According to Politico, the decision was made by the head of the political bloc of the Pentagon by Elbridge Caulbie and a small circle of advisers. Even many people loyal to Donald Trump were criticized by Pentagon officials for not notifying the rest of the administration - this decision, according to them, was made “without proper coordination”. Member of the Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives, Republican Brian Fitzpatrick requested an emergency briefing with the participation of the White House and the Pentagon.

The State Department was taken by surprise, writes Politico. In particular, according to the sources of the publication, the Pentagon did not even inform the foreign policy on the decision to withdraw a batch of weapons, which was already in Poland.

At the official level, this is denied: the unnamed representative of the White House called these statements the “lie”, but it difficult to answer the question when exactly in the State Department they learned to stop the supply of the decision, only saying that it was “before” the information flowed in the media.

The Chairman of the Committee on the Armed Forces of the House of Representatives Mike Rogers also said that he did not know about the suspension of supplies, but called the incident “ordinary pause necessary to evaluate our reserves”. He said that now the committee is waiting for additional information from the Pentagon, and expressed confidence that ultimately the military department would have to publicly explain its position. Rogers assured that the situation “has nothing to do” to the general position of the United States about the need for supplying weapons to Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in a daily evening handling said that Kiev “at the working level” finds out the situation with deliveries. According to Politico, now officials of both countries are working on organizing a telephone conversation between Trump and Zelensky.

As the NBC News sources reported on the eve, the United States suspended the supply of dozens of Patriot missiles, as well as more than one hundred Hellfire missiles, dozens of Stinger missiles, GMLRS reactive shells, grenade launchers and thousands of fragmentation-flue ammunition. Patriot is most critical for Ukrainian defense capabilities, as they are actually the only system that can intercept Russian ballistic missiles.

In 2022, I considered Ukraine a victim of aggression, now it is for me the same participant in the war as Russia. Because both countries kill civilians, try to occupy other people's territories, put ultimatums to each other in “peaceful” negotiations. If someone in my presence begins to express unshakable support to Ukraine (and these are exclusively politicians from Norwegian television news), then in a rather daring manner I offer them: “Do you support? Pussy to the front! They just do not have enough people! " God, I began to talk with the TV.

I also began to blame the West. I think that if the United States and Europe had not intervened, then the negotiations, which had begun in the spring of 2022 in Minsk and Istanbul, could lead to the cessation of fire. It is unlikely that the parties would have agreed on the boundaries and numbers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but at least they would stop killing each other.

I must admit that I do not like myself the current one, but I can’t do anything about it. I just want it to end and people on both sides of the border would cease to die.
