Russia and Ukraine held a new exchange of prisoners - for the eighth time after the June negotiations in Istanbul

Russia and Ukraine held a new stage in the exchange of prisoners of war as part of the agreements reached in the negotiations on June 2 in Istanbul. Personnel from the exchange is published by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the Ministry of Defense of Russia.

How many people participated in the current stage of exchange, they do not specify again.

“Most of the [returning people] have been in Russian captivity since 2022,” said Vladimir Zelensky. - Today our defenders are returning, who defended Ukraine in different regions: the Donetsk region and [including] Mariupol, Luhansk, Kharkov, Kherson regions. These are warriors of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the Border Service, the Transport Service, as well as civilian. ”

The Russian side did not say anything about the returned Russians. According to RBC, in exchange, two residents of the Kursk region, as well as the wounded, were also exchangeed.
